Rep. Luis Gutierrez Announces Retirement, Fuels Speculation of Misbehavior

Luis Gutierrez
WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 28: U.S. House Democratic members, including (L-R) Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL), Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN), House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Rep. George Meeks (D-NY), Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL), and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), participate in a walkout in protest of a vote on whether Attorney General Eric Holder was in contempt of Congress June 28, 2012 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. The House was scheduled for the contempt vote after Holder was accused for not submitting some of the documents in the Fast and Furious program, a federal law enforcement operation that allowed guns to circulate across the border between the U.S. and Mexico, to a House panel investigating it. Politico reports that Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), a constant boil on the backsides of Republicans, is leaving Congress. That’s right, the major backer and defender of illegal immigrants, and the sanctuary city of Chicago, is going to announce his decision to not seek re-election this morning.

Politico cites three sources within the Democrat Party who claim to know of Gutierrez’s intentions. Gutierrez is one of those swamp representatives that nobody on our side will miss. He was a problem, a huge one, that acted like he never read the Constitution or knew what it was about.

He flew by the seat of his pants, saying whatever he wanted, thinking he was crafting law as he spoke it. Gutierrez works so hard for illegals, he probably got a better offer from Mexico and is on his way down south to represent the country he really cares about.

Gutierrez is expected to announce he’s withdrawing his nominating petitions on Tuesday.

The sources say that former Chicago mayoral candidate Jesus “Chuy” Garcia will begin circulating petitions for Gutierrez’s post.

Gutierrez’s spokesman, Douglas Rivlin said he couldn’t comment.

“I don’t know anything. I don’t know anything,” he said late Monday.

Hopefully more will fall after this guy. He is just one of the swamp’s many career politicians that need to go!

Maybe it is me, but with Rep. John Conyers and Sen. Al Franken getting caught by the House Ethics Committee, maybe Luis is caught up in that too, and he’s getting out quickly so they don’t catch him.

The timing is suspect, in my opinion, but I won’t miss him.

Speaking of suspicion, others on Twitter thought it was curious that Gutierrez was stepping down amidst the fallout from the Harvey Weinstein revelations.

What do you think about Gutierrez? Do you think he found a job to help illegals gain citizenship status or did he have an ethics problem that was creeping up on him and he had to get out of town? SHARE your opinions in the comments section below and add this to your Facebook/Twitter timeline.
