Lawmakers are requesting that Attorney General Jeff Sessions take another look at the case involving the targeting of Tea Party organizations by IRS division chief, Lois Lerner.
Lerner, as you may recall, was wrapped up in unlawfully targeting conservative organizations applying for tax-exempt status.
Rep. Peter Roskam, chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Tax Policy, penned a letter asking Sessions to re-open the case.

“We believe that she targeted people based on their political philosophy, which is a crime, and secondly, we believe that she has lied to the inspector general when that was being investigated,” Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Ill., told The Daily Signal in a phone interview.
During her time at the IRS, Lerner reportedly targeted tea party groups.
Lerner “admitted that the agency put additional scrutiny into the applications for nonprofit tax status of conservative and Tea Party groups,” according to NPR.
“We think it is important that the Justice Department thoroughly review it because in our view the Obama administration was dismissive,” Roskam told the Signal.
And it never should have been dismissed in the first place.
Documents released by Judicial Watch of FBI interviews show that IRS officials at the top of the chain recognized that it was “extraordinarily inappropriate and dangerous” to send Tea Party tax exemption applications into a “black hole.”
Yet, that’s exactly what Lerner did.

Despite the fact that she became a Tea Party bully, Lerner has claimed that it would be too dangerous for her to testify in public because, well, those conservatives are bullies.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, “Lois Lerner and Holly Paz both have argued in recent court filings that the threat to their lives outweighs the public’s right to hear their testimony about how IRS employees in Cincinnati and Washington D.C. handled applications for tax-exempt status from tea party groups.”
The audacity it requires to strong arm people for their political views and then whine about taking a little heat with the angry masses is astounding.
