I know I certainly don’t speak for everyone who finds themselves counted among non-Democrats, but there’s a good segment of us who could have told you long before 2017 that Liz Cheney was just as bad as her father, Darth Dick Cheney.
Certainly among the Old Right/populist/libertarian factions of the right, the Cheneys have been villains for quite some time.
Thankfully, and thanks to her own mouth, Liz Cheney is now almost universally a punchline on the right. And it’s not going to get better after this.
The former Congresswoman, who got absolutely whooped by a Trump-backed primary opponent and run out of Congress like a dog, apparently thinks attacking Trump is a good way to gauge support for a possible campaign.
She even released her first ad.
There is one person who Republican voters wish would go away, and it’s not Donald Trump. It’s Liz Cheney. In Wyoming, we rejected the idea that a woman from Virginia could tell us what we should think, and the voters of New Hampshire will do that too. Her personal vendetta…

Cheney Pipes Up From The Cheap Seats
Axios reports that the ad comes from Cheney’s PAC, called Great Task, and will run in New Hampshire where the presidential primaries kick off for Republicans.
Cheney’s role in the ad is limited to voice acting (kind of like how her Congressional career was just acting) and she hasn’t officially announced a campaign.
Titled “Risk,” you can probably guess which event Liz Cheney wanted to highlight over and over and over and over again.
Without further ado, the ad:

Pfff, Get Real
The ad is full of innuendo and professional PR license-taking. It opens up by saying “Donald Trump is the only president in American history who has refused to guarantee the peaceful transfer of power.”
I don’t know what that means. I watched him leave the White House peacefully and then I watched Joe Biden, flanked by soldiers, be peacefully sworn in.
The first 20 seconds are Liz Cheney telling viewers that Trump knew he was lying about the election being stolen, which is predictably followed by scenes from the Capitol riot.
She also claims the mob “hunted the Vice President” and that Trump was warned that “his plans for January 6th were illegal.”
I also don’t know what those two pieces of information are supposed to mean. If Trump was told that it was “illegal” to hold a peaceful rally near the White House, he was told wrong (See: First Amendment.)
Interestingly, Cheney doesn’t use any of the unseen January 6th footage that was shown to the public by Tucker Carlson. Curious!
Cheney obviously has a zero percent chance of winning the GOP nomination; she merely wants to “Get Trump,” because aside from demanding new wars every 20 or 30 minutes, that is Liz Cheney’s reason for existence.
The ad is completely ineffective for anyone who wasn’t already inclined to believe the hysterical rhetoric about Great Aunt Edna overthrowing the most powerful empire in the history of the world. But you know what they say about a fool and his money.
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
