Jacob Chansley, known as the infamous “QAnon Shaman,” has reportedly been released after 27 months in prison. He was sentenced to a 41-month term for his role in the January 6th riot.
Chansley had pleaded guilty to civil disorder and violent entry to the Capitol in September 2021.
In a statement to the Daily Mail, Chansley’s lawyer, Albert Watkins, said he “applaud(s) the decision of the US Bureau of Prison in this regard.”
“It is appropriate this gentle and intelligent young man be permitted to move forward with the next stage of what undoubtedly will be a law-abiding and enriching life,” the statement reads.
Chansley has been moved to a halfway house.
The early release appears to be part of typical federal prison protocol, with inmates able to earn a 15 percent reduction in their sentence for good behavior, along with the possibility of serving the final 12 months in a halfway house.

Tucker Carlson’s Bombshell Videos Change the Narrative
Fox News host Tucker Carlson released portions of the January 6th surveillance footage at the Capitol just weeks ago.
Several video clips provided dramatic revelations previously concealed by the select committee “investigating” the riot.
One example of that was what Chansley did that day.
The “QAnon Shaman,” who had become the face of the so-called insurrection, was seen doing little more than walking around the Capitol with a police escort in tow throughout his visit.
I was told the QAnon shaman was leading an insurrection not the one who is being led by police throughout the capital building. No wonder all the footage was kept from us for 2 years.
As always they lied to us all! pic.twitter.com/nzWWIgryiz— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) March 7, 2023
“The footage does not show an insurrection or a riot in progress,” Carlson told viewers. “Instead, it shows police escorting protesters through the building, including the now infamous ‘QAnon Shaman.'”
The Fox News host showed video clips that reveal Capitol police officers were so ‘distraught’ over Chansley’s actions that they were trying to open locked doors for him to continue his tour.
At one point in the videos, nine police officers can be seen in close proximity to Chansley, and not one of them moves to make an arrest.
I’m thankful for the recently released J6 footage that corrected the narrative.
This is a step in the right direction, but more has to be done for the others remaining in the DC Gulag.
I will continue to visit these defendants as I did last week. https://t.co/qQkFKjDDeI

QAnon Shaman Plotting His Next Move
The punishment for the “QAnon Shaman” clearly did not fit the alleged crime. The videos that the select committee tried to keep hidden from view show that.
And though there seems to be no correlation between Tucker Carlson’s release of the hidden J6 footage and Chansley’s early release from prison, they may play a role in his future plans.
The attorney for dozens of January 6th defendants took to his Twitter feed to explain that the release was happening as he had predicted, though his client is pleasantly surprised.
For the record:
Jake is out on schedule. I told him 16 months ago in our first conversation it would be Feb. or Mar. 2023.
BOP math.
I didn’t do anything extraordinary–this was always the schedule, I just understood it and could explain it to him.
He was expecting 12 more mos.— Shipwreckedcrew.substack.com (@shipwreckedcrew) March 30, 2023
“The Tucker revelations are significant but Jake can’t get the time back,” he lamented.
But what he can do is plan ahead.
“Understanding the schedule, we agreed to not rush our next step,” his attorney said. “Let’s get accurate info on the videos, evaluate our options, then make a plan.”

I could have rushed it out and run to the cameras. But that wasn’t the right choice.
If only his trial lawyer had done the same.

Chansley, he states, will determine whether or not to pursue legal action considering the new evidence “when it is the right time to do so.”
