The congressperson most obsessed with impeaching Donald Trump has to be Maxine Waters. The hysterical representative has called for the president’s impeachment every single month he’s been in office, and most recently vowed to “take him out.”
She’s hardly the only Democrat in Congress calling for Trump’s impeachment. Among them are California Rep. Jared Huffman, Kentucky Rep. John Yarmuth, Wisconsin Rep. Mark Pocan, Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro, Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, Texas Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee, California Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragán, California Rep. Ted Lieu, Maine Sen. Angus King, Florida Rep. Ted Deutch, Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson, Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal, New Jersey Rep. Donald Payne Jr., Massachusetts Rep. Stephen Lynch, Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen, New York Rep. Adriano Espaillat, Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, and New York Rep. Yvette Clarke.
Yeesh. That’s a lot of names!
Rep. Al Green (D-TX) became the first member of Congress to officially read articles of impeachment against President Trump on the House floor. Hilariously, Trump’s Twitter account was at the center of the alleged “crimes and misdemeanors.”
And now, the impeachment forces have big money on their side. According to KCRA, it’s going to be battle of the billionaires as “a California man set the political world ablaze by financing a nationwide ad that calls for Congress to impeach President Donald Trump.”
More from the report: “Tom Steyer’s ad has run on TV, Facebook, Google and YouTube. Steyer is a California billionaire and a former hedge fund manager. He’s spending at least $10 million of his own money on the ads.”
Some reporters suspect that Steyer is really laying the groundwork for a potential political campaign. KCRA 3 political analyst Kevin Riggs says, “This is really about Tom Steyer running for office in California. So you can look at these TV ads as sort of a preview, not so much about Trump, but they are really a preview of his next announcement that he’s running for either governor or senator.”
For as much as liberals bemoan the influence of money in politics, Democrats are actually the primary beneficiaries of “big” money.
All that money didn’t seem to stop Trump from winning the White House in the 2016 election, however. Hillary outspent The Donald 2:1 and still couldn’t win. It’s doubtful Democrats will have any more success with Trump now in the Oval Office.
