It is admittedly hard to keep up with who the left is mad at on any given day. But currently, the target of their pearl clutching is pharmacy chain giant Walgreens. A quick perusal of social media will find that the hashtag “#BoycottWalgreens” is trending.

Why? After the January 6 riot at the Capitol, Walgreens had promised to suspend campaign donations to Republicans who had opposed the certification of the election that made Joe Biden President. 

But Walgreens has resumed its political donations, including to those GOP lawmakers the left has dubbed “the Sedition Caucus.” 

And for that crime, social media is going berserk with demands to “boycott” the company.

What Happens When The Left Doesn’t Get Their Way

Conservative author and writer P.J. O’Rourke, who recently passed away, once gave the perfect definition of liberalism: “At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child – miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats.” 

As the left found out that Walgreens will no longer cater to their demands and ill-discipline, that is when the melodramatic tweets begin to appear.

Others decided to leave mom’s basement for a few extra minutes more and go to another pharmacy, because… democracy!

But ultimately, we all know it’s Donald Trump’s fault.

Conservatives Have Tons Of Fun At Lefties’ Expense

While the left had their meltdown of the day, it almost seemed like conservatives were having just as good a time poking fun at selective liberal righteous indignation. The subject of looting, or the potential for the lack of it, was a popular topic.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio brought up the fact that having fewer woke Marxists in the store may mean a few less duties for Walgreens employees.

It is also a well known fact that liberals, well they like to be well-rested for boycotts. But once they are, they are more than ready to throw themselves into a good boycott.

Some pointed out the fact that it may be easier to pick up some cold medicine.

But as compassionate conservatives, some could not help but look out for the well being of their liberal brethren.

 

And some just needed a little clarification on the whole boycott/looting process.

Selective Outrage As Usual

In October of 2021, Walgreens announced that it would close five more stores in addition to the roughly 10 stores it had closed since the start of 2019. The chain cites the uptick in organized theft. 

Walgreens and chains like them have no shortage of video showing large groups of people carrying armfuls of merchandise, often in broad daylight out of the store with no intervention by security or law enforcement:

Conservative actor and director Nick Searcy tweeted what many others did as well. They were off to their nearest Walgreens to buy stuff, Just to tick off some lefties.

Come to think of it, not a bad idea. There are always some great inexpensive finds at the Walgreens make up counter, count me in!
