Representative Lauren Boebert ripped Rolling Stone magazine over an “EXCLUSIVE” report suggesting GOP lawmakers took part in planning the events that took place at the Capitol on January 6th saying, “They lied.”
The magazine reports that two unnamed ‘organizers’ claim several lawmakers helped in the planning and execution of the Capitol riot.
The organizers describe “participating in ‘dozens’ of planning briefings ahead of that day when Trump supporters broke into the Capitol as his election loss to President Joe Biden was being certified.”
Those unnamed sources will presumably reveal themselves as Rolling Stone reports that they are actively cooperating with House investigators.
They were, according to the outlet, even given a promise of a “blanket pardon” from the Oval Office over any actions they might engage in regarding January 6th.
Not everyone was buying the story, however.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald pointed out that mainstream outlets weren’t exactly embracing the report and even suggested the magazine was simply spreading a “clickbait headline.”
Even MSNBC’s fanatical FBI #Resistance and Russiagate hysteric admits that this viral Rolling Stone article has zero evidence to justify its clickbait headline that members of Congress helped plan violence at the Capitol. Anyway, keep clicking “re-tweet” and “like” and spread it: pic.twitter.com/Q0LRputx2v

Rep. Lauren Boebert Slams Rolling Stone
Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was named specifically in the Rolling Stone report.
“Rolling Stone has separately obtained documentary evidence that both sources were in contact with Gosar and Boebert on Jan. 6,” the outlet claimed. “We are not describing the nature of that evidence to preserve their anonymity.”
An odd pursuit of anonymity considering several organizers of the events of January 6th have already been named and hit with subpoenas by the House select committee investigating the Capitol riot.
Boebert forcefully denied any link to the riot or even the mostly peaceful protest that took place beforehand.
“Once again, the media is acting as a messaging tool for the radical left. The left falsely accused me of giving a reconnaissance tour. In reality, I was visiting the Capitol with my family,” the congresswoman said in a statement.

“They lied claiming my mother was the ‘bull horn lady.’ She was not. They filed an ethics complaint against me for alleged involvement in January 6th activities, but the complaint was dismissed because it simply was not true,” she continued.
“Now grasping at straws, Rolling Stone is using anonymous sources and shoddy reporting to attack me,” Boebert added. “Thank you, next.”
Republicans React To Rolling Stone’s January 6th Exclusive
Other GOP lawmakers named in the report also took issue with Rolling Stone’s version of events.
“The whole thing is their same playbook,” Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told the Daily Caller. “Make up a story, publish it, then all the other outlets rinse and repeat.”
Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) referred to accusations in the Rolling Stone report as “complete garbage” while Greene further accused them of being a “pathetic piece of trash.”

Premeditated Violence?
Anti-Trump lawmakers have long argued that the Capitol riot was not a spontaneous event. Rather, they paint it as a pre-planned attempt to overthrow the government.
Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) claimed just one month after the riot that there was a “massive criminal investigation underway” to determine if former President Donald Trump was guilty of inciting “premeditated” violence on the Capitol.

President Joe Biden last week claimed that ‘white supremacy’ was the driving factor behind Trump supporters objecting to the 2020 election.
“The violent, deadly insurrection on the Capitol nine months ago, it was about white supremacy, in my opinion,” he said.

Past Rolling Stone Exclusive Blew Up
Rolling Stone famously published a sensational story about rape claims at a University of Virginia fraternity in 2014 which were ultimately proven untrue.
The magazine was eventually forced to retract the story.
“We have come to the conclusion that our trust in her was misplaced,” Rolling Stone wrote of the source behind that story.
Now, seven years later, they’re running a sensational story involving a pair of unnamed ‘organized’. Anonymous sources who may or may not be trying to save their own skin when it comes to the January 6th investigation.
Will this be a repeat of their 2014 bombshell story?
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
