Laura Ingraham Celebrates Skyrocketing Ratings in the Wake of Liberal Boycott

Laura Ingraham Ratings

Not only did Fox News host Laura Ingraham escape relatively unscathed during the intense heat of a leftist boycott, but she came out the other side smelling like a rose.

As The Political Insider previously reported, Ingraham is maintaining the top spot in her designated timeslot despite her advertisers turning tail and running in the wake of a David Hogg-inspired hissy fit.

It gets better. Viewership is on the rise since the left tried to get her taken off the air. In fact, it’s up quite a bit.

“Her ratings are up, a lot,” reports Rich Noyes of the media watchdog, NewsBusters, “by more than 20 percent compared to her last week on the air before the current controversy began.”

As such, Ingraham sent out a celebratory tweet to her fans on social media and gave them a hearty “thank you.”

As of last week, no less than 27 cowardly companies pulled their advertising dollars from Ingraham’s show.

To their credit, Fox News issued a statement of support for their host in the face of serious financial peril.

“We cannot and will not allow voices to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts,” Fox wrote in a statement.

Now we know, standing up for what is right and just can actually work.

According to Noyes, Ingraham’s ratings went from 2.23 million the week prior to the boycott, to a significant 2.7 million following her vacation amidst the controversy. That’s an increase of roughly 21 percent.

Even The Hill posted an op-ed column warning companies who engage in boycotts against free speech.

“The advertisers who pulled commercials from Ingraham’s show want to appear all sanctimonious for siding with an insulted teen,” Jeff McCall writes at The Hill.

Appearing sanctimonious isn’t a very good business model.

Those 27 companies lost a chance to get their products in front of an already significant number of viewers. And somebody else swept in to get those viewers, and an additional half-a-million brought in because of the boycott.

Two of Ingraham’s advertisers had their own moments of clarity in the midst of the chaos.

Ace Hardware reversed course and announced they would resume advertising on her show. And MyPillow refused to leave in the first place, with CEO Mike Lindell saying he won’t be swayed by bullies.

Will the other advertisers come to their senses?
