Kyle Kashuv, a survivor of the deadly high school shooting that killed 17 classmates at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, slammed Sheriff Scott Israel for blaming the NRA while not holding himself accountable for a series of failures that led to the attack.
Kashuv believes Israel, whose department missed dozens of warning signs and reports about the shooter well before the attack, is “virtue signaling against the NRA” and “didn’t even act properly.”
The student found it contemptuous that the sheriff went on CNN’s town hall debacle to blame the NRA despite knowing his department dropped the ball, including reports that four of his deputies stayed outside the building, hiding behind their vehicles, while students were being murdered.
Kashuv believes the Democrat sheriff “absolutely needs to resign” his elected post due to his failure to protect the community.

You’re not going to see this young man hailed as a voice of reason on any news outlets either, because he’s not parroting the gun control mob that other parents, officials, and media have been propping up and using the last several days.
Kashuv believes the solution lies in addressing mental health issues, which he called a “bipartisan” topic.
He also called out the other students saying they are not trying to provide a solution, but rather, they are simply trying to ban all guns.
As for Israel, the sheriff actually believes he did a fantastic job of handling this case, despite blatant warnings from numerous entities that said he was going to engage in a shooting spree. The shooter could have been stopped by a competent sheriff running a competent department.
“I can only take responsibility for what I knew about,” Israel said during an interview with Jake Tapper. “I exercised my due diligence. I’ve given amazing leadership to this agency.”
This doesn’t seem like amazing leadership …

Lest we forget the – not one, not two, not three, but four – deputies who stayed outside the building and allowed the shooter to carry out his attack. I know of nobody in law enforcement who would have acted in such a manner, let alone four people. So why did they?
Fox News star Judge Jeanine Pirro agrees with Kashuv, saying Israel needs to “get the hell out” of Broward County law enforcement or face a recall by voters.
“The buck stops with you,” she said. “How dare you trumpet your handling of this situation.”
Hopefully, the wheels are already in motion for the recall. If Israel believes he did a fantastic job then he surely won’t resign of his own volition.
