Kid Rock Announces Non-Profit to Register Voters At His Shows

Speculation is growing, and it probably will All Summer Long.

Kid Rock announced he would further explore a run for Senate in Michigan, while launching a non-profit organization to promote voter registration at his shows.

“During this time while exploring my candidacy for US Senate, I am creating a 501(c)(4) – a non-profit organization for the promotion of voter registration,” Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, said in a statement posted to his web site.

“Not only can I raise money for this critical cause, but I can help get people registered to vote at my shows,” he added.

Via Newsweek:

The rumors are gaining momentum: Kid Rock may actually be considering running for Michigan’s Senate in 2018.

The rock star, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, addressed inquiries about his potential Senate bid on his website, KidRock.com, on Wednesday and wrote he was going to spend the upcoming months “exploring” his candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

In the meantime, though, Rock said he was going to get Michiganders excited for the next election by launching a non-profit organization aimed at promoting voter registration.

The statement was a preview of what one might see out of candidate Rock, a Trump supporter and apparent emulator.

It was peppered with phrases such as “jackass lawyers who call themselves politicians,” along with a little Democrat mockery when he wrote that the opposition party is ‘sh**tin’ in their pantaloons’ right now.”

Fact check on that last part: True.

A recent poll shows that the ‘American Badass’ is leading his Democratic opponent in a hypothetical match up for the Michigan Senate seat. Now he’s setting up an exploratory effort and voter registration drive. Oh, and he’s got friends in high places

Rock issued a warning to his presumptive opponents – “If I decide to throw my hat in the ring for US Senate, believe me… it’s game on ***********.”

With Ritchie possibly entering the theater of politics, liberals are almost certainly going to be sobbing in their little pink hats.
