Kayleigh McEnany slammed “derelict” Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, implying that had he taken action to protect the city, a Trump supporter would not have been killed in cold blood.
As reported here, an Antifa anarchist has been identified as a possible suspect in the murder of Patriot Prayer’s Aaron ‘Jay’ Danielson, a supporter of President Trump, this past weekend.
McEnany, the White House Press Secretary, essentially claimed Wheeler has blood on his hands, noting that even Wisconsin’s Democrat “Governor [Tony] Evers, to his credit finally did request” help in his state.
“What if Mayor Wheeler, the derelict mayor … who’s seen violence for 100 days had requested that help?” McEnany wondered.
“The beautiful young boy who lost his life in the streets – a Trump supporter who was sought out and gunned down by [a] ‘100% Antifa’ individual – in his words – would still be here,” she said.
She’s Right – Change My Mind
There’s not much of a counter-argument to be made against McEnany’s assertion that Wheeler is partly responsible for violence in his city and, by extension, Danielson’s murder.
He was well-aware of how things have been spiraling out of control in Portland for quite some time.
After all, it was over 40 days ago that he decided to join the riots – and was promptly cursed out, told to resign, had water bottles thrown at him, and was tear-gassed for his trouble.

Did Wheeler react by admitting things were out of control and do everything in his power to provide safety and security for residents of his city?
No, he didn’t.
Instead, he has consistently rejected offers of help from President Trump and the acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf.
Within hours of Danielson’s death, the President warned that Wheeler’s incompetence was “causing great danger to innocent people.”
Still, he did nothing.

Trump Administration is Fed Up
Wolf sent a letter to Wheeler earlier this week advising the Democrat that “the chaos, destruction, and suffering in Portland are evils you can stop – and must stop.”
“I urge you to prioritize public safety and to request federal assistance to restore law and order in Portland,” the letter reads.

Weeks ago, Wheeler admitted that violent leftists were trying to kill people in Portland.
“When you commit arson with an accelerant in an attempt to burn down a building that is occupied by people that you have intentionally trapped inside, you are not demonstrating; you are attempting to commit murder,” he said.
Even as they attempted to kill others, Wheeler stood by and did nothing. Perhaps if he had simply done his job, Danielson would never have lost his life.
