White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany slammed the Democrats as being “fundamentally unserious” about coronavirus relief payments, claiming they are “making a mockery” out of it.
McEnany: “No One Has Worked Harder Than This Administration”
Democrats recently blocked proposals by Republican lawmakers that would extend fedreal unemployment benefits for a week while the House and Senate worked out their differences in the new coronavirus relief legislation. In fact, Senator Chuck Schumer said these reasonable proposals were simply “political stunts.”
This didn’t go down too well with McEnany. The rejection of the bills “should tell you exactly where Democrats stand – against hard-working Americans who lost their job through no fault of their own,” she said on Tuesday.
“No one has worked harder to make sure those payments get to Americans than this administration,” McEnany said. “Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin, have been on the hill many many days now, trying to get this deal worked out,” she highlighted.
Democrats Are “Making An Absolute Mockery Of This Process”
McEnany said the Democrats, notably Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are “making an absolute mockery of this process.”
“Rather than coming towards us with a clean extension of unemployment insurance, they are moving beyond what their initial request was of $3 trillion, then they moved to $3.4 trillion. They wanted $100 billion for schools, and we offered $105 billion, to which they rejected,” McEnany continued.

“They are making a mockery of this process, but we are still engaging with them, and this president has been clear. He is ready to act on this, and it is of paramount importance to him,” McEnany argued. “Democrats are fundamentally unserious.”
Dems Are Playing Politics With People’s Lives
I think “fundamentally unserious,” is a rather good choice of words by McEnany to show how the Democrats are acting. An earlier coronavirus relief package by Pelosi demanded the release of many felons and illegal aliens! Clearly, this isn’t the first time that they have totally played politics with the lives of ordinary Americans, and it won’t be the last.
