Kayleigh McEnany Calls Out Top Dems For Hypocrisy On Lockdowns – ‘Rules For Thee But Not For Me’

McEnany

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany called out the many instances of Democrat leaders hypocritically breaking their own COVID-19 lockdowns that they are demanding that the rest of us follow.

McEnany Calls Out Democrat Hypocrisy

“Behind me, you will see images of Democrat hypocrisy playing on loop,” McEnany said as she kicked off her White House press briefing on Wednesday.

She then proceeded to read out a lengthy list of “hypocrites” that included California Gov. Gavin Newsom, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, San Francisco Mayor London Breed, Los Angeles Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, and even CNN host Chris Cuomo.

“Quite clearly these Democrats do not follow their own edicts. They act in a way that their own citizens are barred from acting,” McEnany said as images of the officials played on loop behind her.

“These images behind me make clear Democrats’ mindset: rules for thee but not for me,” she added.

McEnany Calls Out Media

During Wednesday’s press conference, McEnany also went after members of the media like Washington Post reporter Jennifer Rubin and CNN host Anderson Cooper for attacking Trump for wanting to keep schools open. She pointed out that Rubin once said that Trump wants to “kill your kids” by keeping them in school.

“I’m not sure how that’s responsible reporting,” McEnany countered, according to Fox News.

“You had Anderson Cooper saying that he actually doesn’t care about kids at all, nor about the health of their teachers and parents,” she added, going on to say that Trump “followed the science” all along when it came to schools.

“He’s also kept in mind, we have a Constitution, and he will be unashamed and always advocating for the science and the best interest of the children of this country,” McEnany continued.

Fauci Backs Up Trump On Schools

On Sunday, Dr. Anthony Fauci finally backed up Trump’s long-held view that schools should remain open throughout this pandemic.

“We say it, not being facetiously or having a soundbite or anything, but you know: close the bars, keep the schools open, is what we really say,” Fauci said.

“Obviously, you don’t have one size fits all, but as I’ve said in the past, and as you accurately quoted me – the default position should be as best as possible, within reason, to keep the children in school and get them back to school,” he added.
