Democrat Congressional Candidate Arrested For Trying To Sell Stolen Ring Worth $4,800

A Democrat congressional candidate from Wisconsin was arrested on third-degree grand larceny charges for trying to sell a ring she ripped off from a Manhattan jewelry store.

Juliet Germanotta, who is reportedly an ordained minister and describes herself as a “proud transgender woman,” had ordered a $4,800 18-karat yellow gold Zambian emerald and diamond ring from Mikaelians Jewelry on West 47th Street in Midtown on September 19. However, when the ring arrived she claimed it wasn’t to her liking, and asked for her money back. But instead of sending the real ring back to the jeweler, she sent a $10 replica – and sold the real one.

Mikaelians filed a report with the NYPD on October 2. Meanwhile, when Germanotta’s buyer in Wisconsin had the ring appraised they learned it was stolen. NYPD detectives subsequently arrested Germanotta in Wisconsin, where she confessed to the crime.

Germanotta is running against Democratic Rep. Ron Kind in Wisconsin’s 3rd congressional district. So far it seems her campaign strategy has been to attack Kind via crude memes on Twitter.

Did she make that in MS Paint?

Ironically, Germanotta’s campaign literature proclaimed that she would keep the state “fiscally responsible by questioning expenses.” On Thursday, she vowed to tell her side of the story of her arrest “soon.”

We can’t wait to see what lie she’ll spin next.
