Joy Reid Compares President Trump To Fidel Castro In Meltdown Over RNC Speech: ‘This Was A Crime’

Joy Reid Trump

MSNBC host Joy Reid had a full meltdown over President Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night, going so far as to compare him to Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and to accuse him of violating the Hatch Act.

The four-night RNC convention ended with President Trump giving a powerful 70-minute acceptance speech of the Republican presidential nomination on the White House South Lawn. Afterward, Reid teamed up with her fellow MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Nicolle Wallace to show just how “triggered” they were by Trump’s speech.

Joy Reid’s Meltdown Over Trump’s Speech

“As I’m watching this, I’m thinking Fidel Castro, Julius Caesar, Mobutu Sese Seko,” Reid said. “That was not an American president giving an acceptance speech. That was a monarch.”

“He made the White House into the Trump palace,” she added.

Not stopping there, Reid nonsensically accused Trump of trying to permanently take over America as a monarch, despite having no evidence to back up this assertion.

“If democracy in America ever falls and we become a complete autocracy with a decrepit leader and his corrupt family moving their trunks into the White House and never leaving,” Reid said. “Tonight is what it will look like.”

“This is what it will look like to have a decrepit, corrupt monarch,” she continued. “This was a crime.”

Reid Doubles Down

Reid continued her bizarre tantrum by accusing the president’s daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump, who gave a speech before he did, as well as members of the White House cabinet who were present of violating the 1939 Hatch Act. This act limits “certain political activities of federal employees” and is meant to ensure federal actions are administered in a nonpartisan way, according to the U.S. Office of Special Counsel.

“This was repugnant to see a campaign sign festooned on our property, on the White House, with a big iron gate outside so that the people can’t even come in,” Reid said. “This was repugnant. This would be the end of America. If this is what we’re going to be, this won’t be a democracy. That’s a monarchy. It was repugnant.”

The only “repugnant” person I’m seeing right now is Joy Reid.
