Joy Behar and Meghan McCain often get into verbal spats on their ABC talk show “The View,” but the pair got into one of their most heated exchanges yet on Tuesday while they were discussing past comments made by Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg.
It all started when McCain brought up insensitive racial comments Bloomberg has been accused of making in the past, including ones he allegedly made to a female employee while searching for a nanny.
“It’s a f—–g baby! . . . All you need is some black who doesn’t have to speak English to rescue it from a burning building,” he allegedly told the employee, according to The Washington Post.
McCain pointed out that Bloomberg’s comments have presented a problem for Democrats, as they make it tough for them to take a moral high ground against Donald Trump.
“All I have to say is there are very fine people on both sides,” Behar said, referring to comments Trump made in response to the racial protests in Charlottesville, Virginia. She went on to claim that the president has “belittled the Black Lives [Matter] movement.”
“I’m not defending Trump because I’m attacking Bloomberg,” McCain fired back, at which time things started to go downhill between the two co-hosts.
After the pair went at it a bit more, McCain exclaimed, “You know what, I just think it’s so interesting that you have a problem that we are talking about a candidate the way we would any other candidate. He just happens to be at the top getting the attention right now, which is why we’re talking about it right now.”

“What? I’m supposed to give Bloomberg a pass? Not on this show!” the proud conservative continued.
Behar then asked who McCain planned to vote for in 2020, at which time the young woman exploded, yelling, “Who I vote for is none of your business. But I am not voting for Trump and I’m sure as hell not voting for Bloomberg.”
“So, then you’re not going to vote,” Behar said in frustration. “You’re not voting for Trump and you’re not voting for a Democrat, you said that already.”
“You know what, you guys have done a piss-poor job of convincing me that I should vote for a Democrat,” McCain responded.
When the show came back from commercial, McCain said that it’s “ridiculous” to expect “The View” to ignore Bloomberg’s comments.
“There’s an impression in the media and from you that I’m getting that we should just give him a pass,” she said.
Despite this, Behar continued to defend herself.
“She brings up some of the bad side, I bring up some of the good side. That’s all,” Behar said. “That’s what this show is about. It’s called ‘The View.'”
“I know, but you seem to have a problem whenever I have a different view,” McCain shot back.
Had a conservative made the comments that Bloomberg was called out for making here, Behar would never let it go and brought it up whenever the Republican’s name came up. Since it was one of her precious liberals who said these racially-insensitive things, however, Behar was trying to give him a free pass, so we’re glad McCain did not let her get away with it.
It’s no secret that Behar and much of the rest of the mainstream media are hypocrites when it comes to covering Democratic candidates in comparison to how they cover Republicans like Trump. Going into the election this year, it is important to remember when watching their coverage that they will do anything they can to protect their beloved liberal candidates of choice.
