Fellow Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) has made it official: Senator John McCain (R-AZ), who is quickly losing his battle with Stage 4 cancer, will not return to the U.S. Senate.
As Politico reported, Hatch noted McCain’s inability to return: “That’s what I’ve been told. I don’t know. I hope he does, I hope he can.”

Hatch, who the more senior Republican Senator, urged McCain to reconsider his harsh decision to not invite President Donald J. Trump to his funeral:
McCain prefers instead that Vice President Mike Pence attend his funeral rather than Trump, who has mocked McCain for being tortured and attacked him for voting against Obamacare repeal. But Hatch said he thought keeping the president from his funeral was too much: “I think it’s ridiculous.”
“Well, he’s the president of the United States and he’s a very good man. But it’s up to [McCain]. I think John should have his own wishes fulfilled with regard to who attends the funeral,” said the Utah senator. Asked whether McCain should change his mind about Trump, Hatch said: “I would.”

Many close family friends, including former Vice President Joe Biden, have been spending time with McCain at his home during his final days. As Biden told The New York Times, “I wanted to let him know how much I love him and how much he matters to me and how much I admire his integrity and his courage. I wanted to see my friend.”

I do think President Trump should be at the funeral; he can offer his apologies and talk about how John McCain has served his country; there were some murmurs that he talked to save his life, but we’ll never know. However, I also think this is not about President Trump; it’s about what John McCain and his family, who will be there, want. If it is too awkward for Trump to be there, he shouldn’t be. It is a very difficult decision for both of them.

I voted yes if he thinks he is the better man he would in the very least invite the President to come. However, I hope the President declines because of the traitorous acts that McCain has done over the years. He is more a communist than an American and does not deserve the respect he is demanding.

By John McCain getting his last jab in at Trump, is petty. You should be mending fences among your enemies, when you’re getting ready to meet your maker. At least that’s what I have always been told. In fact, because of their animosity, now would be a good time for him to invite Trump to Arizona before it’s too late, and have a heart to heart. What politician’s say against their rivals or those those that speak out against them, is not always what’s in their hearts later. Many regret their lashing out at someone later, but few get the opportunity to apologize.

Then he dumped crippled wife no#1, married the tall, blonde millionaire, went into politics and took a second and third bite at the American veteran.
One has to laugh at his request that the American president not attend this Quisling’s funeral. Lets bury the bastard where he was born, in Panama. Further, let us require any currently serving senate or house member pay their own way, and if the have a security contingent, pay for them as well. I will pray for him. I am a conservative, who voted for President Trump, and I know that John McCain could care less about why. If I actually knew what John McCain really believed in, it would help in understanding his hatred for the President. I hate to see a man go to his death with hate in his heart, I just plain hate it.
