Widow of Vice President Joe Biden’s Son Now Dating His Brother

Ever since he left the White House a little more than one month ago, Vice President Joe Biden has been keeping a low profile, making few public appearances and avoiding making any news.

Now, things are about to change after reporters confirmed that the widow of Joe Biden’s late son Beau has begun a romantic relationship with Beau’s younger brother Hunter.

From Page Six:

Hallie was devastated when her husband, Beau, died after suffering from brain cancer in May 2015. But she has since struck up a romance with Beau’s brother Hunter, 47, who has separated from his wife, Kathleen. We’re told Hallie and Hunter are now officially a couple.

The astonishing family drama caps a difficult period for the Bidens following the death of Beau at age 46. The former vice president cited the death of his elder son as one of the reasons he decided in October 2015 against running for president.

Former Vice President Biden confirmed the relationship to Page Six and said that he and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, have given their blessing to the couple.

He told us in an exclusive statement, “We are all lucky that Hunter and Hallie found each other as they were putting their lives together again after such sadness. They have mine and Jill’s full and complete support and we are happy for them.”

People on Twitter reacted to the news in a puzzled way:

This sort of familial love relationship isn’t very common, but given the high-profile of the Biden family, it makes this story even more unusual. What are your thoughts on the widow of Beau Biden dating his younger brother? Share your thoughts below!

  1. – one wonders how long the under the bedsheets activity has been in progress. Some people can switch fukkees as readily as most of us switch buses. Marriage vows are to them a necessary inconvenience.

  2. So what. Not only is there nothing to prevent a brother marring his widowed sister in law, the Law of Moses sometimes mandated it.

A levirate marriage (Hebrew: yibbum) is mandated by Deuteronomy 25:5-6 of the Hebrew Bible, which obliges the oldest surviving brother of a man who dies childless to marry the widow of his childless deceased brother, with the firstborn child being treated as that of the deceased brother (see also Genesis 38:8) which renders the child the heir of the deceased brother, and not the genetic father.

  3. So what’s wrong with it? One son dead, the other all-but divorced. Hey, it’s their private lives. We have no reason to criticize them for it. In fact, even the Bible says the surviving son should marry the widow.
