Fox News personality Jesse Watters nailed Senator Lindsey Graham to the wall over the FBI raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, suggesting he isn’t nearly as mad about this as he has been about other things such as the war in Ukraine.
Watters also not-so-subtly attacked Republicans for being all talk and no action. The interaction is fascinating, with Graham trying his best to sound tough, ending up repeating the same talking points several times.
The tense exchange came during Tuesday’s edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
Graham (R-SC) began by saying Attorney General Merrick Garland justify the raid.
“Every Republican, including myself, should be calling on the attorney general to justify the raid on the former president of the United States’ home — the likely nominee for 2024,” he said.
“Tell the country why you had to do this, why you couldn’t use a subpoena, why it was necessary and what the hell you were looking for?”
The raid, criticized by Republicans as the weaponization of the Justice Department against political opponents, reportedly involves an investigation into the handling of classified documents that may have been brought to his Palm Beach home.
Graham has referred to the raid as “problematic,” – the understatement of the century, and just the kind of thing Watters was worked up about.
Time will tell regarding this most recent investigation.
However, launching such an investigation of a former President this close to an election is beyond problematic.

Jesse Watters made it clear to Senator Lindsey Graham that he wasn’t impressed with the fact that Republicans tend to talk about how mad they are about the way Trump is treated but don’t necessarily act with the same level of fire.
Or in most cases, act at all.
“I love having you on, Lindsay. You know, you and I have debated about things and I’ve seen you pretty spitting mad over Ukraine,” Watters said. “But you don’t seem as mad … about this.”
“I don’t understand why people aren’t out in the streets.”
An animated Watters continued hammering away, noting that Republicans have seen the political persecution of Trump by Democrats for three election cycles. Three election cycles! And it just keeps happening unabated, other than Republicans acting tough on TV.

Graham proceeded to give a bit of an ‘I feel your pain’ speech reassuring the host. But the Fox News personality’s pushback continued.
Watters concluded by joking that perhaps the Senator could draw attention to this outrageous FBI raid by getting “fake arrested like AOC and create a big spectacle.”
“We gotta hold these people’s feet to the fire,” he implored.

Watters Takes on Nancy Pelosi as Well
Jesse Watters not only held Lindsey Graham’s feet to the fire, but he directed a significant amount of anger toward House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as well.
Pelosi, fresh off scouting her insider trading investments a trip to Taiwan claimed the FBI had “justification” for conducting the raid on Trump’s home.
“To have a warrant, you need justification,” she said in a discussion with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
“And that says that no one is above the law, not even a president or a former president of the United States,” she added.

Watters swiftly took Pelosi apart referencing her husband’s controversial stock trades and new allegations that she brought her son with her on the trip to Taiwan.
“I mean, she’s fresh off the heels of insider trading allegations, her husband’s been crooked for the last three decades,” Watters fired off.
“And she does this, she flies her other crooked son over on a government jet to Asia, and he’s trying to cook up lithium deals and electric car battery deals in all the places she happens to be going to,” he alleged.
“And then she scrubs the internet – the transcripts of all indications that she brought her crooked son over there,” Watters continued. “I mean, he’s like Hunter Biden without the crack pipe!”

Paul Pelosi Jr. reportedly made the trip to Taiwan with his mother Nancy.
Watters accused the FBI of using the Trump raid as a means to “plant evidence.”
“They could have easily negotiated the return of documents like that without guns and warrants,” Watters said. “What the FBI is probably doing is planting evidence, which is what they did during the Russia hoax. We also have a hunch they doctored evidence to get the warrant.”
While there is no indication the FBI did any of this, they certainly have a history that leads to rightful questioning of their motivations.
Maybe Lindsey Graham and the Republicans could get around to investigating all of it at some point.
