Sports reporter Jemele Hill, who called President Donald Trump a white supremacist on Twitter, is out at ESPN after news broke of a buyout between her and the network.
The New York Post reported her departure Saturday and said ESPN will buy out the remainder of her $2.5 million annual contract. Details of the buyout have yet to be released.

“Since leaving ‘SportsCenter’ earlier this year, she has barely worked, making a divorce the obvious conclusion,” The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand wrote.
James Miller, author of “Those Guys Have All The Fun: Inside the World of ESPN,” tweeted about the buyout Saturday and claimed it will be finalized by Sept. 1.

Hill made headlines in September 2017 when she called Trump a “white supremacist” and accused other white people of ignoring his behavior and embracing “white privilege.” She also called Trump the most “ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime.”
She was later suspended for two weeks for a second violation of ESPN’s social media guidelines, after she told fans to boycott the Dallas Cowboys and their advertisers for their stance on the national anthem protests.
Hill was taken off SportsCenter and reassigned to the website “The Undefeated.” She always maintained the switch was entirely her decision.
“This was definitely 100 percent my choice,” she told NBC News, according to USA Today. “The Undefeated is a natural home for me given it’s a site about the intersection between sports, African Americans, race, culture. It meshes all those things that I think are even more vital to discuss. And I wanted to do it on a platform that was deeply aligned with who I was as a person.”
