Earlier this week, Democrats and their liberal media allies had a collective freak out after reports surfaced that during his confirmation hearing before the Senate, Attorney General Jeff Sessions failed to disclose meetings he had with the Russian Ambassador as part of his responsibilities as a member of the Armed Services Committee.
Predictably, the left suggested that then-Senator Sessions engaged in some sort of nefarious activity, given that he was a supporter of Donald Trump during the presidential campaign. Despite offering up no proof that Attorney General Sessions discussed anything beyond the purview of his Senate responsibilities, the left demanded he resign from his cabinet post.
To minimize some of the faux outrage, Sessions announced that he would recuse himself from any investigation possibly related to Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, but stressed that he had done nothing wrong by meeting with the Russian Ambassador.
President Trump has since stood by Sessions, calling him an “honest man” who “did not say anything wrong. He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not intentional. This whole narrative is a way of saving face for Democrats losing an election that everyone thought they were supposed to win. The Democrats are overplaying their hand. They lost the election and now, they have lost their grip on reality. The real story is all of the illegal leaks of classified and other information. It is a total witch hunt.”
Despite the lack of evidence pointing to Attorney General Sessions doing anything wrong, that hasn’t stopped top Democrats for calling for his head, including Congressman Keith Ellison, the newly-elected deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, who argued that Sessions should receive jail time for failing to disclose meetings with the Russian Ambassador during his confirmation hearings.

In a statement issued Thursday morning, Ellison asserted that Sessions “lied under oath” in his Jan. 10 Senate confirmation hearing about the meetings with Kremlin’s diplomat, Sergey Kislyak.
“Since it has now come to light that Attorney General Jeff Sessions lied under oath about meeting with Russian officials during the campaign, we must be entirely clear on one thing: perjury is a felony and may be punishable by prison for up to five years,” said Ellison.

Democrats are getting extremely desperate in their attacks on this administration. It wasn’t enough for some Democrats to demand that Attorney General Sessions resign, but you have the new leader of the Democrat Party actually suggesting that Sessions should be jailed for comments he made during his confirmation hearing.
Keith Ellison is known for his far-left extreme views, so it should come as no surprise that he would make yet another over-the-top proclamation about Jeff Sessions. Democrats have to be questioning whether they want someone like Ellison being the second in command at the DNC given that his views are far outside the norms of this country.
