James Comey’s Wife ‘Devastated’ by Hillary’s Loss to Trump

James Comey may have been a Republican, but it’s doubtful he favored Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. In his new book “A Higher Loyalty,” he speaks of his decision to briefly open up the FBI’s investigation into Hillary’s private email server. That’s an event which Hillary commonly blames for her defeat (though that isn’t saying much, given that she’s blamed a thousand other things) – but Comey says he didn’t re-open the investigation to hurt her. Rather, he thought it would help legitimize her presidency when she “inevitably” won.

“It is entirely possible,” Comey writes, “that, because I was making decisions in an environment where Hillary Clinton was sure to be the next president, my concern about making her an illegitimate president by concealing the restarted investigation, bore greater weight than it would have if the election appeared closer or if Donald Trump were ahead in all polls. But I don’t know.”

Since when is it the FBI’s job to “legitimize” an incoming President? It isn’t – and we all know Comey would’ve never done the same for Trump in any situation.

We also learned from James that at least one Comey was devastated by Hillary’s loss.

According to the Daily Caller:

James Comey confirmed that his wife Patrice wanted Hillary Clinton to be the first female president, and Patrice Comey told ABC News that she was “devastated” when Clinton lost.

“I didn’t take a poll among all the kids, but I’m pretty sure that at least my four daughters, probably all five of my kids, wanted Hillary Clinton to be the first woman president,” James Comey said.

“My wife and girls marched in the Women’s March the day after President Trump’s inauguration,” he continued.

“There was a lotta passion in this house for Hillary Clinton,” Comey told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos as he tried to make the point that he “wasn’t making decisions based on political fortunes.”

Patrice Comey told ABC, “I wanted a woman president really badly, and supported Hillary Clinton. A lot of my friends worked for her, and I was devastated when she lost.”

Are we to believe that James is the only odd one out in the family? Yeah, right.

I guarantee James Comey was devastated that Hillary Clinton lost as well, but I wouldn’t count on him admitting to this.
