James Comey Says ‘I Hope Not’ When Asked if Trump Should Be Impeached

A star is born!

At least, that’s what former FBI Director James Comey must be thinking about himself. This Tuesday, Comey’s new ‘b**chy’ memoir, to borrow a descriptive phrase from Fox News’ Chris Wallace, will be released. In preparation for the book drop, Comey spent the weekend frequenting the usual suspects of humdrum Sunday cable shows, boosting his own compromised image and lambasting President Trump.

The media, like the bloodsucking demons they are, are eating the whole thing up. The press is desperate to hear James Comey’s story, hoping it will provide the silver bullet to bring down Trump. There’s only one issue: When Comey was asked if Trump should be impeached, he gave an answer that caught many liberals by surprise.

From CNN:

Former FBI Director James Comey said that although Donald Trump is “morally unfit” to be president, it’s not grounds to be removed from office through the impeachment process.

When asked in an exclusive interview with ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos if he believes Trump should be impeached, Comey answered, “I hope not.”
He went on to say, “Because I think impeaching and removing Donald Trump from office would let the American people off the hook and have something happen indirectly that I believe they’re duty bound to do directly.”

Does James Comey think the president should be impeached? “I hope not because I think impeaching and removing Donald Trump from office would let the American people off the hook. People in this country need to stand up and go to the voting booth and vote their values.” pic.twitter.com/1Icwkf9AGU

This is some impressive obfuscation from Comey. He won’t come out and say Trump should be impeached, despite his vehement criticism of the President. Rather, he puts the onus back on the American people, essentially waving off responsibility. If this is high-mindedness and sober leadership then the captain in Moby-Dick is a chaste saint.

Comey’s entire grasp for relevance with his book tour has the same stink as Hillary Clinton’s score-settling promotional tour. Both Clinton and Comey are a pair of losers bested by Donald Trump. Now they’re using what little influence they still have to bash Trump, which the media is gleefully indulging in just to hurt the President.

It’s a charade. If Comey truly thought Trump was a morally depraved president, he’d demand impeachment. Instead, he gives a non-answer. Pathetic.
