We know who won the hugely important South Carolina primary for the Republican nomination for president:
Conservative businessman Donald Trump!
According to CNN, Trump ran away with the win, and Cruz and Rubio are nearly tied for second. With 99% of all precincts reporting, Marco Rubio edges Ted Cruz 22.5% to 22.3%.
This is a huge deal in the race for the Republican nomination, as the mainstream media and anti-Trump establishment were out in full force to take him down.
From CNN:
Trump’s performance could unnerve the Republican establishment, since South Carolina has sided with the eventual nominee in every GOP presidential race since 1980, apart from 2012.
Trump’s conservative message is resonating across America. One exit poll in South Carolina shows that a fully 75% of voters support Trump’s plan to temporarily ban Muslim immigration to America.
