Irate Ted Cruz Slams Podium In Disgust After Reporter Asks About Republicans Not Wearing Masks

Ted Cruz reacted angrily to a reporter asking about Republicans wearing masks, slamming his hands on the podium and suggesting media hypocrisy was in play.

Ted Cruz reacted angrily to a reporter asking about Republicans wearing masks, slamming his hands on the podium and suggesting media hypocrisy was in play.

The Texas Republican was in the midst of a press conference discussing Democrat attempts to eliminate the filibuster when a reporter suddenly felt it relevant to question him and his colleagues about failing to wear masks.

“Just once, I’d like to see a reporter say to Joe Biden when he stands at the damn podium in the White House without a mask, ‘Mr. President, why aren’t you wearing a mask?'” Cruz shot back angrily.

“Just once, I’d like to see you say to Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, when she stands at the podium with no mask, ‘Ms. Psaki, why don’t you have a mask?’ the Senator added.

“The questions are only directed at one side, and I got to say that the American people see the hypocrisy,” he said, punctuating his remarks by slamming his hands on the podium.

Angry Ted Cruz Slams The Podium

First off, Ted Cruz is 100% correct about the media hypocrisy and probably should have kicked over the podium in disgust in this author’s humble opinion.

Then gave it a People’s Elbow. Then delivered a Five-Star Frog Splash off of Senator Roy Blunt’s shoulders.

But I digress.

Second, did the reporter not get the latest mask guidance delivered from the President himself?

“I encourage everyone to wear a mask when they’re indoors in a crowded circumstance like we are right now and — unless you’re eating or speaking at a microphone,” Biden said.

Microphones, you see, are COVID-resistant.

They Never Ask Democrats

Cruz is dead-on in accusing the media of utter hypocrisy.

Has anyone bothered to ask Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) about why she feels it’s okay to party maskless in Florida while insisting the commoners in her district wear masks?

Did anyone bother asking Chinese spy aficionado Eric Swalwell about his maskless adventures in Florida?

I could go on and on. In fact, there have been so many Democrats caught maskless living their best life in Florida that the reelection campaign for Governor Ron DeSantis is selling t-shirts with their names listed on the back.

“Escape to Florida” the shirt states on the front while the back reads, “We Don’t Blame You… We Like Freedom, Too.”

With all of that said, the reporter did note a “glaring visual” existed because the lawmakers at the podium not wearing masks while media members were still wearing theirs.

On that, I agree. Let the reporters choose whether or not they wear masks. Give them that freedom.

Senator Cruz has been on a bit of a tear lately. Aside from the podium beatdown, Mr. Ted forced a top FBI official to refuse to answer under oath whether or not agents from the bureau or confidential informants had participated in the January 6 riot at the Capitol.

Cruz appears to be in recovery mode after being called out by Fox News host Tucker Carlson for erring in calling the Capitol riot a “terrorist” attack.

“You called this a terror attack when by no definition was it a terror attack. That’s a lie,” Carlson hammered. “You told that lie on purpose, and I’m wondering why you did.”

A much meeker-sounding Cruz backpedaled at the time and tried to explain the comments away as being “sloppy” and “frankly dumb.”
