A man trying to illegally cross the U.S. border broke both of his legs and injured his back after falling from the top of a 30-foot wall.
U.S. Border Patrol agents found the man, whose name has not been made public, with the severe injuries at Gran Plaza Outlet Mall in Calexico, California, around 9 p.m. Sunday. Paramedics determined he had bilateral femur fractures to both legs and he was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Palm Springs, Fox News reported.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a video of the fall to remind “the public of the involved dangers while crossing illegally,” according to a tweet Tuesday from CBP El Centro.

“The newly established border wall system is 30 feet tall and attempting to climb up or down could result in potentially life-threatening injuries,” a Customs and Border Protection press release said.
The number of illegal immigrants trying to enter the U.S. has dropped significantly since President Donald Trump took office in 2017.
