Holocaust Survivor and Tree of Life Massacre Survivor Defends Trump

One of the survivors of the horrific massacre at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Judah Samet, owes his life to the fact that he was running a few minutes late to Temple that morning. It marked the second time he narrowly escaped death from those looking to exterminate the Jewish people. The first was when he was just a seven-year-old boy – in the Bergen-Belson concentration camp in Germany. An estimated 50,000 died at that specific camp, but Samet was not one of them.

While the media tried to blame the massacre on Trump, even though the perpetrator violently and virulently hates the President, Samet was one of the unheard voices to dismiss such rhetoric. According to the Jewish publication The Forward, Samet not only dismissed the media lies, but attacked a number of left-wing tropes:

“I don’t fall in love with people, except my family, but I love him for what he’s doing… Our economy is fantastic. Obama was a jerk and hated Israel.”

While Samet did say he believes anti-Semitism is on the rise (and he’s right about that) he didn’t blame that rise on Trump. Even under Obama (and Bush before him), Jews have been the most victimized minority group (on a per-capita basis) in the U.S. In fact, for as much as we hear about the perils of so-called “Islamophobia,” hate crimes against Jews are ten times as common.

He also said he was unfazed by Trump’s recent affirmation that he’s a “nationalist” – a phrase liberals pretend is an anti-Semitic dog whistle. “Trump’s America is No Safe Place for Jews” headlined one insane op-ed at the Washington Post following the comment.

Samet took a more sensible approach:

“Is he a nationalist? To me, America comes first. Israel is important, but since I’ve been living here all this time, I’m very patriotic.”

The Rabbi of the Tree of Life Synagogue feels the same as Samet, saying, “The President of the United States is always welcome. I’m a citizen. He’s my president. He is certainly welcome,” he told CNN.

The Pittsburgh Synagogue massacre has proven just how shameless the media is in twisting any tragedy against President Donald Trump. The shooter’s social media profile showed numerous anti-Trump posts (he opposed Trump’s position on supporting Israel, and hates that Trump isn’t anti-Semitic), and the Synagogue welcomed Trump’s visit – but what narrative did you hear? All I read in the liberal media was that Trump was not only somehow responsible for this shooting but that the victims of the massacre didn’t want his condolences.
