MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow is calling out Hillary Clinton for dodging an interview, after learning that her (hopefully former) friend Harvey Weinstein was going to be a topic of discussion.

For anyone who may have forgotten, Weinstein and Hillary were good personal friends, and Weinstein had donated around $30,000 to the Clintons over the years. He’d also donated over $300,000 to the DNC. It’s Hillary’s connection to Weinstein that explains why she waited days before publicly addressing the Weinstein sex scandal(s) when they broke, claiming to have been “shocked” and “disgusted” to learn what has been described as the biggest open secret in Hollywood.

But while Hillary addressed the Weinstein accusations on Twitter, Farrow, the journalist responsible for finally bringing the story of Weinstein’s decades of sexual abuse to the public, says Hillary dodged a public interview with him in the wake of the scandal.

According to Mediaite:

Farrow appeared on Good Morning America Wednesday to talk about his new book, and made a revelation about an interview he was slated to have with Hillary Clinton.

When George Stephanopoulos asked Farrow what surprised him most about his conversations with America’s top diplomats, the journalist remarked on how hard it was to get some of them to sit down for an on-the-record interview — namely, Hillary Clinton.

Farrow explained that he had an interview scheduled with Clinton while he was in the midst of reporting on Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood titan he brought crashing down with a stunning New Yorker report on the extensive sexual assault claims leveled against him.

“Hillary Clinton had scheduled an interview while I was at the height of the Weinstein reporting, and her folks got in touch and said, ‘we hear you’re working on a big story,’ [they] sounded very concerned, and tried to cancel the interview.”

“Over the Weinstein stuff?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“Over the Weinstein stuff,” Farrow confirmed.

Watch below:

Note that Farrow didn’t indicate that he had planned on asking Hillary about anything Weinstein related – she just knew that Farrow was about to blow the lid off what’s become the biggest Hollywood scandal of the 21st century.

Hillary has since tried to take some credit for the “#MeToo” movement, which aims to elevate women who’ve suffered workplace harassment.

Earlier this month at an event, someone asked Hillary: ‘In an alternative reality, if you were president today in 2018, do you think the #MeToo movement would’ve still happened?’ ‘I believe that it was a wave that was building and building and building,’ Clinton responded in remarks caught on video. ‘I think my losing probably accelerated that wave, but the wave was coming.’

Ironically, she wouldn’t even sit down with the man actually responsible for igniting the movement.
