Grocery Store Ad Reminds Customers Heaven Has a Wall, Hell Has Open Borders

A family-owned grocery store chain in Arkansas raised a few eyebrows when they promoted the concept of a border wall, noting that Heaven has one while Hell does not.

The print ad has caused controversy with some customers wondering why the chain felt a need to get involved in a border-security debate while promoting sales on ‘fresh ground beef’ and ‘boneless pork loin.’

The business, Mac’s Cashsaver, sent a weekly ad mailer to four locations which read, “Heaven has a wall, a gate and a strict immigration policy. Hell has open borders. Let that sink in.”

Well, they’re not wrong.

Controversy

The store still managed to raise the ire of a few people who disagreed that a political statement should be included in their weekly grocery flyer.

“It just doesn’t make any sense,” one customer told KARK while shopping at one of the Cashsaver stores. “Why would they put that on there?”

Employees at the store said they had received several phone calls about the ad, but the report doesn’t indicate if they were predominantly against or supportive of their actions.

“I didn’t have a problem with it,” another customer admitted. “If they want to come here, they can come here legally.”

Jack Digby, the store manager, is also supportive of the message.

“I am for the company and I am for God,” Digby said. “There’s nothing wrong with what that statement says.”

Heaven Has a Wall

The grocery store’s statement echoes that of Pastor Robert Jeffress who countered House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s assertion that walls are somehow immoral by noting Heaven has one.

“A wall is an immorality,” Pelosi claimed without evidence. “It’s not who we are as a nation.”

“The Bible says even Heaven itself is gonna have a wall around it,” Jeffress said during a Fox & Friends appearance. “Not everybody is going to be allowed in. So if walls are immoral, then God is immoral.”

The company told local news affiliates that it stands by the message and intends to include more in future weekly mailers.
