Two GOP Candidates Assaulted in Minnesota – Including Female Representative

Republican Minnesota State Representative Sarah Anderson was physically assaulted after she spotted a man destroying Republican yard signs, and State Representative candidate Shane Mekeland was sucker punched while speaking at a restaurant, leaving him with a concussion.

The assaults

Anderson was charged at and punched after she saw a man tearing up lawn signs for Republican candidates. She told the Washington Free Beacon, “It was just insane. He was charging at me, saying, ‘Why don’t you go kill yourself?’ To have someone physically coming after you and attacking you is just disheartening.”

Anderson left the scene after the initial confrontation and was attacked again after she tried to get a photo of the unnamed assailant. That’s when he charged at Anderson again, preventing her from entering her car and punching her in the arm.

Isn’t it Democrats who say that the GOP is waging a political “war on women?”

Aspiring State Representative Shane Mekeland, meanwhile, was sucker punched and sustained severe injury.

According to the Beacon:

“Mekeland suffered a concussion after getting sucker punched while speaking with constituents at a restaurant in Benton County. Mekeland told the Free Beacon he has suffered memory loss—forgetting Rep. Anderson’s name at one point in the interview—and doctors tell him he will have a four-to-six week recovery time ahead of him. He said he was cold cocked while sitting at a high top table at a local eatery and hit his head on the floor.”

Democrat officials called for violence even after attacks

After both assaults, the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party’s communications director William Davis made posts to Facebook encouraging voters to “take back the country,” and on November 7th, to “bring them [Republicans] to the guillotine.” He only received a temporary suspension for the posts.

This violence, and Davis’ calls for further violence, follow high-profile calls for violence from notable Democrat members of Congress. Maxine Waters says that she threatens supporters of President Trump “all the time.” Cory Booker has advised his supporters to “get up in the face” of those who support the President’s agenda. Former AG Eric Holder bastardized Michelle Obama’s calls for civility, telling an audience “when they go low, we kick.” When asked if he condemned protestors confronting and harassing Republicans and their families in restaurants on CNN, Bernie Sanders deflected and instead indicated he believes that such harassment could help mobilize Democrat voters in the midterms.

Notably, it was a Bernie Sanders volunteer who shot up a Congressional baseball practice, nearly killing Republican Steve Scalise.

Political violence today comes almost exclusively from one direction. While no one would deny that there are crazies on both sides, mainstream Republicans don’t encourage the fringe elements in their party to commit acts of violence. The opposite is true of the Left.

They’ve already proven they believe women are “fair game” to attack. What’s next, children?
