‘God What An Idiot’: AOC Ripped For Claiming She Couldn’t Get Rid Of Her Tesla Because There Was No Vaccine, Musk Chimes In

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stepped in it big time when questioned as to why she still owns her Tesla Model 3 despite saying she planned to ditch it for a union-made model.

The topic was broached during an interview on CBS’s Face the Nation.

“Is it a problem with the quality, is it a problem with the style, is the market just not there?” host Margaret Brennan challenged.

What happened next was nothing short of stunning, as the New York congresswoman claimed that the reason she couldn’t get rid of her Tesla, despite claiming she was ready to do so well over a year ago, is because there was no COVID-19 vaccine.

“Er no look our car was purchased during the pandemic when travel, mass, before a vaccine had come out so travel between New York and Washington the safest way we had determined was an EV,” she said.

AOC Mocked For Nonsensical Excuse For Clinging To Her Tesla

Aside from being one of the flat-out dumbest things ever said by a public figure who should already be enshrined in the Hall of Fame of dumb public figures, AOC is lying about why she kept her non-union-made Tesla.

The far-left New York Democrat told Bloomberg News previously that she was thinking about selling her Model 3. She claims that she purchased it in 2020 due to its ability to hold a charge longer than other electric vehicles.

“I would love to switch,” she said in a 2022 column titled “Democrats Aren’t ‘Musk Fans’ But They Sure Do Like His Cars.”

Lucky for her, had Ocasio-Cortez been serious about her response, the first COVID-19 vaccine came out in December of 2020. In fact, she recorded herself receiving the first vaccine on Instagram that year.

By the time of her discussion with Bloomberg News, boosters were already being recommended, and she also received her booster publicly.

Was she worried about going to a car dealership and getting sick? Doesn’t the vaccine work, AOC? Maybe she just didn’t want to drive to the union-made EV dealership alone, with her mask on in the car.

Ocasio-Cortez’s response earned a hefty dose of mockery on social media.

“Oh, yes, I too decide the make and model of my vehicle based on the availability of Covid vaccines,” chided political commentator Tomi Lahren.

“She just can’t bring herself to say that Tesla is the better option,” Clinton critic Juanita Broaddrick observed.

“WTF does the vax have to do with it?” asked influencer on X, formerly known as Twitter. “God, what an idiot she is.”

Don’t Worry – She’s Going To Really Get Rid Of It This Time

Despite completely making up her reasoning for not trading in the Tesla, Ocasio-Cortez promised her supporters that she would do so this time around.

“That was prior to some of the new models coming out on the market that had the range available, but we’re actually looking into trading in our car now and hopefully we will soon,” she told Brennan.

Tesla chief and X CEO Elon Musk wasn’t about to let the whole ordeal slip by without responding in some manner.

Musk fired back in the affirmative that Ocasio-Cortez was essentially admitting that she’d be “selling the #1 most American-made car to buy a union car with more foreign parts.”

And, of course, he’s right. Tesla claims the top four spots on the Cars.com index of most American-made cars – including Ocasio-Cortez’s own Model 3 at number two.

Musk and Ocasio-Cortez have been engaged in a spat for some time. News of her first claim of wanting to get rid of her Tesla came after she and Musk engaged in a humorous back and forth on X.

The socialist Democrat posted last year about an “explosion of hate crimes … happening [because] some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform.”

Musk trolled her rather effectively responding, “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy.”

Ocasio-Cortez claimed that she was actually “talking about Zuckerburg” before deleting the post because she wasn’t actually talking about Zuckerburg.

Musk has previously criticized the Democrat Party – including Ocasio-Cortez – for being controlled by unions.

“The degree to which the unions control the Dems is insane,” Musk said. “It’s like watching a sock puppet ‘talk,’ but the hand inside the sock is way too obvious!”

While we certainly can’t stand Ocasio-Cortez, watching her stick her foot in her mouth really never gets old.
