From day one, Glenn Beck has been a devout member of the so-called “Never Trump” movement. The movement largely died when Trump was confirmed as the nominee, and Republicans against Trump realized they’d sure as hell prefer him to Hillary, but Glenn has remained adamantly against The Donald.
Instead of backing Trump, Beck has endorsed Evan McMullin, an independent candidate who isn’t even on the ballot in most states. McMullin is currently polling around Trump and Hillary in Utah, and may cost Trump the electoral votes in that historically red state. Beck has backed a candidate who, in his own words, stated that “What we’re trying to do is earn enough electoral votes [in the Electoral College] to block Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, if the race between both of them is close that we are able to do that by winning one or two states … if not that, then we will be, you know, happy to have prevented someone who I believe is a true authoritarian from taking power in the United States and that is Donald Trump.”
Great – an independent conservative candidate who’d rather see Hillary Clinton than Trump in the White House. Great choice Beck. What are you going to do next, have a mental breakdown and shove your face into a bowl of Cheetos? (Oh wait…)
Now, with a week left until the election, and Trump regaining his lead, even Glenn Beck has to acknowledge that Trump could win this thing.
Glenn Beck on Monday predicted that the FBI’s renewed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server would deliver the presidential election to Donald Trump.
The conservative media mogul made the prediction on his nationally syndicated radio program, repeatedly saying “the race is over.”
“Let’s just say he was 8 points, that was fair to say, 8 points behind last week,” Beck said, according to a transcript posted on his website. “He should win by 5 points.”
Beck later added: “How can the next president face a possible collapsing economy, possible war with Russia, and a current war with ISIS? Oh, and also, be under FBI investigation and indictment? Can’t. Can’t.”
The conservative personality called the latest FBI revelation “the greatest gift given to any candidate of all time in the history of America” and added that if Clinton still managed to win, it would be akin to proof “magic exists.”
And for the first time in a while, Beck is correct. Look at the LA Times poll today, and you’ll see Trump leading by other three points.
And that’s not all. As was noted over at Headline Politics today, on October 23rd, an ABC News poll showed Hillary leading Trump by an astounding twelve points. Today – that same poll shows Trump ahead.
