This is fantastic news for the Trump Administration.
The road to confirmation appeared rocky at first for Haspel, who played an alleged role in the CIA torturing suspected terrorists in the early days of the War on Terror. Because Democrats are hypocrites and didn’t raise a stink then, they decided to use Haspel’s service against her, attacking her for following orders and obeying the law to keep us safe.
Haspel has since vowed to never revive torture as a weapon to use on detainees.
Earlier in the week, Haspel cleared a crucial vote by the Senate Intelligence Committee, which confirmed her with a 10-5 vote. Although it wouldn’t have been fatal to lose the support of the Committee, she was confirmed by both Democrat and Republican senators, which shows that she has enough credibility and authority to carry out her role.
Don’t expect liberals to be cheering for this huge accomplishment for women. Haspel may be the very first female head of the CIA, but she’s still an enemy of the Democrats by virtue of being appointed by President Trump. It’s a sad fact that liberals can’t see past politics to celebrate a good thing, even for a minute.
