An Episcopal church in Virginia has decided to remove a pair of plaques honoring their most prominent former parishioners, the nation’s first president George Washington and Robert E. Lee.
Church leaders for Christ Church in Alexandria explained the move in a letter to attendees indicating the plaques “make some in our presence feel unsafe or unwelcome.”
The move comes amidst a sea of backlash from liberals who have decided everything they see must be racist and triggering.
President Trump facetiously asked during the height of the statue wars if the outrage would eventually lead to the removal of symbols honoring our Founding Fathers.

The Alexandria church is proving that you should never give liberals an idea, no matter how absurd it might seem at the time.
Church leaders seem to be conflating and equating the plaque honoring Lee with that honoring Washington, saying people who visit the church won’t return after seeing them.
“Some visitors and guests who worship with us choose not to return because they receive an unintended message from the prominent presence of the plaques,” the letter of explanation reads.
They’re not even vaguely one in the same.
Who sees a plaque of Washington and says ‘Ya know what, that’s just too offensive … You won’t be seeing me around these parts again’?

A Chicago pastor in August demanded that a statue of Washington be removed from a local park because our nation’s first President allegedly only “fought for the justice and freedom of white America.”
Now, the Virginia church leaders seem to agree with that sentiment.
“Many in our congregation feel a strong need for the church to stand clearly on the side of ‘all are welcome- no exceptions,'” they explained.
Meanwhile, at the church’s 240th-anniversary celebration from 2013, an actor playing Washington made an appearance and nobody in the congregation ducked for cover or ran away in fear.
Since everybody seems to be fair game these days, we’re wondering when any monuments, statues or plaques honoring former President Obama are going to be removed.
An amateur genealogical researcher in 2007 discovered that “Obama’s ancestors on his white mother’s side appear to have been slave owners.”
I’d hate to feel unwelcome every time I see a reference to Obama. Isn’t that how we play this game, liberals?
