George Soros’ Son Alexander Fact-Checked After Claiming Progressive Cities Have Lower Murder Rates

Alexander Soros, the son of left-wing billionaire George Soros, was hit with a Community Notes fact-check on the X social media platform after claiming murder rates are not higher in progressive cities.

Alexander Soros, the son of left-wing billionaire George Soros, was hit with a Community Notes fact-check on the X social media platform after claiming that murder rates are not higher in progressive cities.

Alexander is a prominent Democrat donor, at one point surpassing his father in federal political donations in 2017. The elder Soros was the biggest political donor in 2022, shipping some $140 million to Democrats and left-wing causes.

The Soros name is often attached by critics to district attorneys who are viewed as being soft on crime.

In order to counter that narrative, the younger Soros posted a blog entry from a site known as LA Progressive which makes the claim that violent crime is actually higher in red districts.

“Where Are Murder Rates Actually Higher?” he captioned the article. “Not in progressive cities.”

Alexander Soros Gets Introduced to Community Notes

Community Notes, X’s version of a fact-checking service, immediately slapped Alexander with a label for posting incorrect information.

The designation points out that the five cities with the highest murder rates in America – St. Louis, Baltimore, New Orleans, Detroit, and Cleveland – all have Democrat mayors running the show.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk chimed in with a couple of other posts referencing the Alexander’s misinformation. The first referenced a “random bunny account” which jokes about Soros getting called out for his attempt to mislead the public.

“Facts are facts!” Musk declares.

In sharing the “bunny” post, Musk also predicted that those unwilling to peddle in truth will leave the X social media platform which, in turn, will help make it the best source of factual data and information online.

“Those who can’t handle reality will leave this platform due to @CommunityNotes,” he claimed. “But the public will increasingly come to realize that 𝕏 is the best source of truth, causing our user numbers to rise as they abandon the less accurate sources of information.”

Soros is a Frequent White House Visitor

The Community Note is actually being kind in its presentation for Alexander Soros.

Of the top 10 cities with the highest murder rates, all have Democrat mayors with the exception of one – Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman, who is an independent but was a Democrat up until 2009.

It’s also worth noting that Soros’ use of the LA Progressive as a source of data is, some would suggest, beyond parody.

The site utilizes the Daily Kos as one of their links to “best statistics” and completely throws out murder rate data reported by Florida officials, saying it “can’t be used to argue anything.”

George Soros’ son is a frequent visitor to the White House, which one would think would be at odds with an administration that often touts its war against alleged misinformation.

A New York Post analysis of visitor logs earlier this year shows that Alexander had visited the White House 14 times since President Joe Biden took office – including having taken part in “at least” a dozen meetings with administration officials in 2022.

The family duo has donated tremendous resources in forcing soft-on-crime DAs into local communities.

The Los Angeles Times ran a column in 2018 noting that the left-wing billionaire father was “spending millions of dollars.”

The money was an effort “to back would-be prosecutors who want to reduce incarceration … revamp a bail system they contend unfairly imprisons poor people before trial.”

Fox News host Harris Faulkner famously cut off Newt Gingrich when he tried to address Soros’ reach in the local races.
