In a newly published interview, former President George W. Bush explains which aspect of being President he misses most since leaving office. And while it would be easy to imagine the current President answering such a question with ‘the vacations’ or ‘golf,’ Bush misses the one thing we need as a nation right now – being Commander-in-Chief.

“There is only one thing that I really miss about being president, and that’s being the commander-in-chief. I admire our military a lot,” former U.S. President George W. Bush tells Israel Hayom, his eyes twinkling. “When you are the commander-in-chief, at a time when I was, when you put them into a lot of combat situations, you develop a special bond, not only with the military but with their families.”
“I would salute men and women in uniform on a daily basis,” he says.
He added, “I miss saluting those who volunteer to put themselves in harms way. And I have vowed for the remainder of my life that I will do all I can do to help our vets.”
Our current President doesn’t even do all that he can for our vets now.

He went on to share some of the moments that strengthened that bond.
“I met with a lot of families of the fallen. And I tried to do it out of the press. I didn’t want people to think … that it was just out of self-pity,” he told the paper. “I went to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center all the time. You know what they told me most of the time? ‘I’d do it again Mr. President. You know, I hope I get well so I can go into combat.’”
For all their efforts in trying to bring down the legacy of President George W. Bush, the liberal media and the Democrat party with their lies have failed miserably, as he now enjoys a higher favorability rating than Obama.
It’s respect like this for the military and our vets – respect the Obama’s will never have for any military member – that helps show the humanity behind the former President.
And for that, you gotta love him.
