Former Trump Staff Member Stephanie Grisham Punches Back At 'The View': ‘You Keep Attacking Me’

On Friday, former first lady Melania Trump’s chief of staff and short-term White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham went into the octagon – only to find herself under attack from the co-hosts of “The View” for working for the Trump administration.

Grisham, who has become something of an anti-Trump figure since leaving the employ of the Trumps, found herself on the receiving end of more dedicated anti-Trumpers.

Grisham sparred mostly with “Never Trump” Republican Ana Navarro – though co-host Sunny Hostin didn’t spare Navarro, either.

Never Trump Navarros attacks Grisham

Navarro criticized Grisham for working for a man Grisham claimed was fooling his supporters, saying, “For years you heard him do this, right? Laugh behind closed doors.”

“So why did it take so long to find it so objectionable?” she asked.

“I did cover this, but I’m happy to do it again,” Grisham said.

“I believe people deserve an explanation,” Navarro said, accusing Grisham of being an “accomplice.”

“I gave it, I gave Tuesday, and I gave it Wednesday, I will give it again today, that is fine by me,” Grisham responded. “I worked for Mrs. Trump, I moved to the West Wing, I saw things I hated, by that time I wanted to leave and I knew—because I’m sorry, people like yourself are so against me that I would not be able to get a job anywhere.”

“I’m a single mom, I have bills to pay. I went back to Mrs. Trump, because I felt protected by her. I feel like at least she did things anti-Trump against her husband,” Grisham said, without further explanation of what “anti-Trump” things First Lady Melania was undertaking.

“Then January 6 happened, and I said, ‘hell no, I’m done’ … That’s what happened. And I know it’s hard to believe, but I believed in him, and half the country believed in him, and I think that when you keep attacking me, you’re attacking a lot of people out there who might want an off-ramp,” Grisham said.

Navarro replied, “For me, it’s not about attacking you… it’s about holding accountable.”

Co-host Joy Behar suggested that those who worked for Trump including to Navarro could change over four years.

Navarro questioned that logic.

“Four years later?” Navarros said. “After ‘there were good people on both sides,’ after the way he treated immigrants, after what he said about Mexicans, after hearing the sexual assault boasts on tape, after seeing him make fun of a disabled reporter?”

“You need four years?” Navarro exclaimed.

Grisham replied, “You also don’t know the things I stayed in there and stopped. So if we want to fight this out for the rest of this, I’m good to go. But I’m sorry, I’m sorry and I want him to be never elected again.”

‘The View’s Hostin Condemns Republicans

“Well, listen, maybe for me, it’s a little personal because I took attacks for four years from people who worked in that White House,” Navarro said.

Co-host Sunny Hostin said even being Republican was a problem.

“You know, I think there’s a time to cut bait,” Hostin said. “And I think when you have a party that is so sick, and so divisive, and so harmful to this country, I think standing in that party makes you complicit.”

Grisham’s Never Trump Book

Grisham wrote a “tell-all” book after her time in the White House, in which she attempted to portray former First Lady Melania as an out-of-touch elitist.

Melania, perhaps learning from the best, came back swinging at Grisham, saying, “The intent behind this book is obvious. It is an attempt to redeem herself after a poor performance as press secretary, failed personal relationships, and unprofessional behavior in the White House.”

Grisham has continued making the rounds on liberal media, saying last October that Trump would be “unleashed” if he were elected again.
