Former Senator Jeff Flake Says At Least 35 ‘Republican’ Senators Would Vote For Impeachment

Of all the people to weigh in on this subject, former Sen. Jeff Flake is bopping on podcast interviews claiming that he figures 35 ‘Republican’ Senators would vote for impeaching President Trump.

On Thursday, Flake joined a progressive podcast called “What Next,” where he remarked about the Republican Senators were in favor of joining the Democrats.

I Would Watch Each Of These Republicans! Republican-Led Senate Votes 54-41 To Block Trump’s Border Emergency Declaration

Flake: “Somebody mentioned yesterday, that, if there were a private vote, that there’d be 30 Republican votes. That’s not true. There’d be at least 35.”

“Or maybe more if it were a private vote. But that’s not possible. And so, they have to come out, and many of them are up for re-election in tough seats.”

Fortunately, secret votes are not provided for in our Constitution, or we would have something akin to the “Blackhand Society.” The representatives ARE accountable to the people who elected them.

The Constitution requires a two-thirds supermajority to convict a person being impeached. The Senate enters judgment on its decision, whether that be to convict or acquit, and a copy of the judgment is filed with the Secretary of State. ‘If the vote was private,’ is something I doubt could be true. But assuming it could be true, that would be corporate interests over voters’ interests. The same corporations that fund Democrats fund Republicans. Funding includes both campaign donations and jobs after leaving the office.

Flake is saying they only represent their constituents when someone is watching. We need to watch these RINOs. Flake is also a certifiable mental case. In some ways, he’s worse than any Democrat.

We haven’t even been through the process yet, and that all-important impeachment step hasn’t also come to a conclusion and these activist reporters are already making a count of how many senators will vote to remove him. Let me tell you something, children — if you’re looking for it, you will find it. Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.

No Stomach For Integrity? Pelosi Walks Out On Reporters After More Impeachment Questions

Congress could do their job of working in infrastructure, reforming healthcare, reforming immigration, protecting the voting process, and letting American citizens decide the path of their country. But then again, Congress doesn’t want to work, and Trump is a mover and shaker. Both parties don’t appreciate a president who requires them to do their job; all they want is to give speeches, accumulate wealth, and help their wealthy donors become even richer. They could care less about helping ordinary American citizens. Trump demands it.

Flake is not and never was a fan of the president. He left the Senate because he couldn’t win reelection. Somehow I doubt any Republican in the Senate would vote to impeach the president unless there was a real crime which so far, there is not. Thank God he’s no longer in the Senate.
