He went on to call the Republican party a cult.

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL), a devoted never-trumper, finally ended his campaign to steal the 2020 presidential nomination from Donald Trump, admitting that the current president “can’t be beat.”

Walsh officially dropped out of the race today during an interview with CNN’s John Berman after getting just 1 percent of the vote in the Iowa GOP caucuses, according to Breitbart News.

“I’m ending my candidacy for President of the United States,” Walsh said.”Look, I got into this because I thought it was really important that there was a Republican out there every day calling out this president for how unfit he is. I want to stop Trump, I believe he’s a threat to this country. He can’t be stopped within the Republican Party. Nobody can beat him. It’s Trump’s party. It’s not a party, it’s a cult. He can’t be beat in the Republican primary, so there’s no reason for me or any candidate to be in there. The party has become a cult.”

Walsh went on to say that before entering the race, he actually thought he had a shot to take the nomination, not realizing just how devoted to Trump the party has become.

“I didn’t see how cult-like the party was,” he lamented. “Ten states around the country canceled their primaries and caucuses, the state parties are beholden to Trump. The conservative media world, Fox News and all of rest, wouldn’t give me the time of day. I’m a Republican candidate for president, but they bow down in front of their king. And then out there everyday talking to Republican voters, I just became convinced that these folks had been fed nothing but lies and mistruths about President Trump and they can’t be gotten back.”

Looks like someone is bitter!

There’s nothing “cult-like” about Republicans supporting a conservative president who has given us an amazing economy and a record-low unemployment rate. The real cult here is that of Never-Trumpers like Walsh, who would rather see America fail than see Trump succeed.

Goodbye, Joe Walsh, you won’t be missed!
