Flashback: Pelosi Argues Republicans Impeaching Clinton Because They’re ‘Paralyzed With Hatred’

Recently surfaced video shows that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sang a drastically different tune when it came to the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

A video dated December 18th, 1998 has surfaced showing Pelosi engaged in House debate of articles of impeachment for former President Clinton.

Her words can practically be flipped verbatim to describe the hypocritical Democrat party as they pursue baseless impeachment inquiries regarding the new Ukraine hoax.

The most striking element of this video – aside from the fact that Pelosi could apparently form cognitive thoughts back then – is her description of impeachment as being based solely on hatred for the sitting President.

Oh, the irony.

“Today the Republican majority is not judging the president with fairness, but impeaching him with a vengeance,” Pelosi argues. “We are here today because the Republicans in the House are paralyzed with hatred of President Clinton, and until the Republicans free themselves of that hatred our country will suffer.”

Of course, Pelosi is being misleading here, as Clinton had provably committed perjury and obstruction of justice, the basis for his successful impeachment.

Still, word-for-word. Replace Republicans with Democrats, and Clinton with Trump, and it applies to today’s impeachment inquiry word-for-word.

“It’s about a punishment searching for a crime that doesn’t exist,” Pelosi added.

That about sums up the past three years for Democrats who have desperately sought to impeach President Trump for the Russia collusion hoax, unapplicable emoluments clauses, tax cuts, mean tweets, and now a Ukraine hoax that is already falling apart.

The White House, within hours of Pelosi’s announcement of an impeachment inquiry, revealed that the intelligence community Inspector General (IG) found the whistleblower who filed these ‘bombshell’ allegations against Trump and Ukraine, had “political bias” in favor of “a rival candidate.”

Pelosi argued that Trump’s actions – unproven allegations that he withheld military aid from Ukraine in exchange for investigation of a political rival in Joe Biden – demonstrate “a grave new chapter of lawlessness which will take us into a whole new stage of investigation.”

It actually demonstrates a political hack job that all but ensures the President being reelected in 2020.

Trump has acknowledged that the impeachment effort, bound to blow up spectacularly in the faces of the resistance movement, is good for his 2020 chances, but bad for America.

“They all say that’s a positive for me in the election,” Trump told reporters. “You could also say who needs it, it’s bad for the country.”

In 1998, Pelosi called impeachment a “hatchet job” and urged Congress to vote the effort down. Today, she cowers to the far-left extremists in the ‘Squad’ to appease their desire to see Trump removed from office. Clinton’s impeachment succeeded. Trump’s will fail.
