Jeep Carrying Castro’s Ashes Breaks Down During Funeral Procession

Metaphors abound with this story.

The jeep being used to transport the ashes of the late brutal Cuban dictator Fidel Castro broke down during the funeral procession and had to be pushed by soldiers.

The image of those soldiers pushing Castro’s jeep is as symbolic an image as you’ll ever see for the murderous, failed socialist experiment the Cuban people have been forced to endure under his regime.

And just maybe, God was getting revenge on this monster – providing one last bit of humiliation before he was gone forever.

Via Fox News:

Cuban dictator Fidel Castro’s ashes were interred in a private ceremony Sunday morning, ending nine days of official mourning.

The Russian-made jeep ferrying Castro’s ashes broke down and needed to be pushed on Saturday en route to the late leader’s final resting place.

The breakdown of the jeep in the midst of adoring crowds chanting “Long live Fidel!” was symbolic of the dual nature of Castro’s Cuba. While his legacy inspires fierce adulation by many of the nation’s citizens, others continue to grumble about Cuba’s autocratic government, inefficient bureaucracy and stagnant economy.

As word of the jeep’s fate broke, mockery on social media quickly ensued.

The reality of Castro’s policies, however, are no laughing matter. Castro was a sick, demented murderer. He killed tens of thousands of people, and forced the country into wild impoverishment.

The country’s economy has forced people to maintain vehicles for many years, as they are unable to purchase new models.

Reuters spoke to one man in Havana about purchasing a vehicle, who stated, “Yeah, I can buy it, but with what? Unfortunately our economy doesn’t allow us to save money to be able to buy it.”

Apparently the economy didn’t allow the military to buy a decent jeep for the funeral procession either.

Comment: Did God get revenge on Castro for his bloodthirsty slaughter and impoverishment of the Cuban people?
