On the issue of Iran, failed president Obama was either extremely optimistic about the possibility of peace with the regime – as the Ayatollah continued to lead rallies chanting “Death to America” – or he had some sinister, ulterior motives.
If the former is the case, Obama truly is oblivious. It didn’t take long for Iran to violate the terms of the nuclear deal. By May of last year Iran had violated the terms of the deal at least three times – but that didn’t stop Obama from paying them a $400 million ransom for American hostages, and additional billions in payments.
And last November, Iran violated one of the terms that placed limits on their heavy water stockpile – the same day Iran demanded the U.S. stick to the deal. It’s clear that Obama allowed the number one state sponsor of terror to walk over us.
But the truth about what Obama really did behind the scenes is much more sinister. This is absolutely shocking:
When President Barack Obama announced the “one-time gesture” of releasing Iranian-born prisoners who “were not charged with terrorism or any violent offenses” last year, his administration presented the move as a modest trade-off for the greater good of the Iran nuclear agreement and Tehran’s pledge to free five Americans.
“Iran had a significantly higher number of individuals, of course, at the beginning of this negotiation that they would have liked to have seen released,” one senior Obama administration official told reporters in a background briefing arranged by the White House, adding that “we were able to winnow that down to these seven individuals, six of whom are Iranian-Americans.”
But Obama, the senior official and other administration representatives weren’t telling the whole story on Jan. 17, 2016, in their highly choreographed rollout of the prisoner swap and simultaneous implementation of the six-party nuclear deal, according to a POLITICO investigation.

As you’ll see, the Obama administration had some “alternative facts” of their own.
While the seven men freed were portrayed by the administration as civilians, Obama’s own Justice Department acknowledged that some of them posed threats to national security. Three of the men had been accused of supplying Iran with the raw materials needed to build cruise missiles, and one of the men served an eight-year sentence for conspiring to supply Iran with “satellite technology and hardware.”
They were freed – and that wasn’t all.
To sweeten the deal for Iran (for some unknown reason), Obama’s Justice Department also dropped charges against 14 fugitives that all bore some connection to Iran. Nearly all were suspects in terrorism-related investigations.
THIS is the truth about what Obama was hiding from the American people. The so-called “deal” is this: Obama gave Iran terrorists, and gave them time to build a nuclear weapon. America got exactly nothing.
What a deal! All Obama had to do was lie to the American public to sell us on it.
Where was the media reporting on all this? Why weren’t these questions asked by the people who call themselves “real journalists?” Why do we always find out about the crimes after it’s too late?
This is astonishing. President Trump truly has an uphill battle to fix the mess Obama left after 8 years in the White House.
In its determination to win support for the nuclear deal and prisoner swap from Tehran — and from Congress and the American people — the Obama administration did a lot more than just downplay the threats posed by the men it let off the hook, according to POLITICO’s findings.
