The hashtag ‘#EmptyShelvesJoe’ began trending on social media and a video of the President saying that food shortages are a “leadership problem” surfaced Thursday, as supply chain issues mount under Joe Biden.
Twitter users began posting images of what appear to be empty shelves at local grocery stores, kicking off the cynical hashtag trend.
Investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson tweeted images of her local store remarking, “I’ve never seen empty shelves like this in my lifetime.”
The Political Insider’s Becky Noble covered the economic issues currently plaguing the Biden administration – including supply chain issues that could impact Christmas for Americans.
“U.S. ports are backlogged with ships waiting to be unloaded and transferred to other forms of transport,” Noble writes.

The #EmptyShelvesJoe hashtag powerfully illustrates the supply chain disaster facing President Biden even today, not just down the line toward the holidays.
The ‘Libs of Tik Tok’ Twitter account tweeted out various videos which purportedly show empty shelves in stores.
The following alleges to show shelves at a Dollar Tree store looking extremely barren.

Dollar Tree recently made news by announcing that they were increasing the price of some products over a dollar due in part to rising costs and inflation.

“Joe Biden’s weak policies have FAILED the American people once again. #EmptyShelvesJoe,” Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) tweeted.

Leadership Problem
In further bad news for President Biden’s supply chain shortages, a video resurfaced in which he criticized previous shortages, at the onset of the pandemic under former President Donald Trump, as a crisis of leadership.

“We don’t have a food shortage problem — we have a leadership problem,” then-candidate Biden said at a virtual town hall in May of 2020.
The circumstances facing the country under Trump – when lockdowns were first being implemented – were vastly different than the economic goldmine Biden should be promoting as the economy opens up in most areas.

“We have plenty of food,” Biden added as he accused Trump of being the problem at the time.

Trump issued a statement earlier this week pointing out Biden’s many failures of leadership.
“COVID is raging out of control, our supply chains are crashing with little product in our stores, we were humiliated in Afghanistan, our Border is a complete disaster, gas prices and inflation are zooming upward — how’s Biden doing? he asked.
Trump added, “Do you miss me yet?”
