On Thursday, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki about the sudden exodus of staffers from Vice President Kamala Harris’ office.
Two of Harris’ stop staff – including her press secretary and her communications director, are departing. Two other staff have announced their departures as well.
The timing is interesting, as the departures comes in the wake of a CNN exposé that claimed there was dysfunction and unhappiness in the White House.
The exchange happened during the daily White House briefing.

Psaki Claims They’re Just Looking For New Opportunities
Doocy asked Psaki, “People are reportedly going to be leaving the vice president’s office soon. Is the vice president not satisfied with the staffing she has had so far or do people just not want to work for her anymore?”
Psaki replied, “Well, Peter, I would say that working on a presidential campaign, maybe covering one too, I would say, to be fair, and working in the first year of a White House is exciting and rewarding but it’s also grueling and exhausting.”
“It’s all of those things at once,” Psaki insisted.
She continued, “In my experience, if you look at past precedent, it’s natural for staffers who have thrown their heart and soul into a job to be ready to move on to a new challenge after a few years and that is applicable to many of these individuals.”
On Wednesday, Harris’ senior advisor and chief spokesperson Symone Sanders acknowledged that she would be leaving her job at the end of the year.
According to the Washington Post, director of press operations Peter Velz and deputy director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs Vince Evans are also leaving Harris.
Those familiar with Harris’ office criticized the work environment back in June, including alleged bad treatment of lower-level staffers.
Reports claimed that this poor treatment often happened because of the vice president’s chief of staff, Tina Flournoy.
