CNN’s Don Lemon Refuses to Apologize for Saying White People Are a Threat

CNN is refusing to hold host Don Lemon accountable for saying that ‘white people’ are a threat to America. And now the outspoken host is doubling down on his troubling – and frankly racist – comments. (Related: CNN’s Don Lemon Believes Biggest Terror Threat to America is … White Men.)

Don Lemon says white men are the real terrorism threat

On Monday night, Lemon said the following on fellow CNN anchor Chris Cuomo’s show:

The biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.

His comments are almost too insane to be believed. But he definitely said them. Take a look:

Imagine for a second that a Fox News host, say Sean Hannity, replaced “white men” with “black men” in Lemon’s sentence. Just think of the kind of outcry that would have transpired. It would have been deafening.

No apology from Don Lemon

Instead of apologizing, or even dropping the discussion, Lemon doubled down on this comments, saying again that white people are the real threat to the country. Here’s what he said on Wednesday night:

I said that the biggest terror threat in this country comes from radicals on the far right, primarily white men. That angered some people. But let’s put emotion aside and look at the cold hard facts. The evidence is overwhelming.

Here is the video:

What Lemon said is reprehensible. Under no circumstances should vast swaths of people be called a terroristic threat in this country. Doing so violates a core tenet of America: that we are individuals responsible for own actions.

The real result of Lemon’s anti-white rhetoric

Lemon may not realize it, but he’s stoking the flames of racial hatred. Saying white men are a unique terror threat means others will stop trusting their fellow Americans based solely on their skin color. In any dictionary, that’s defined as racist, pure and simple.

All we’ve heard since the faux-bombing spree aimed at Democrats is that the heated political rhetoric level in the country needs to chill. Lemon isn’t helping in that effort. He’s making it worse.

If anyone else said what Lemon did with any other ethnicity, it would be a national crisis. Lemon’s shameful rhetoric, however, is going unremarked upon by the mainstream media.

White people aren’t a terroristic threat in America. Terrorists are, no matter what their race or religion is.

Lemon should be ashamed. He should apologize and take backs his comments.
