DOJ Considered Recruiting Mike Pence to Remove Trump from Office

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe just dropped a bombshell revelation in his new book: the DOJ talked about recruiting Mike Pence to remove Trump from the presidency.

A possible DOJ-led coup

The Department of Justice reportedly held meetings discussing the possibility of having Mike Pence replace Trump as the president, justifying the de facto coup by invoking the 25th Amendment.

The discussions reportedly occurred following James Comey’s unceremonious ousting as director of the FBI. Rod Rosenstein, the current Deputy Attorney General, was a part of these discussions. It was reported last year that Rosenstein actually suggested removing Trump via the 25th Amemdment, comments he later described as not serious. It appears they may have been more serious than he let on.

Andrew McCabe’s new book

All of this is going to be revealed in a new book by Andrew McCabe. More was revealed during a CBS report:

“There were meetings at the Justice Department at which it was discussed whether the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet could be brought together to remove the president of the United States under the 25th Amendment,” CBS News’ Scott Pelley said Thursday in a preview of his forthcoming interview with McCabe.

Let’s be clear: this is an attempted coup by unelected bureaucrats. Plain and simple.

Trump won’t be happy

This news will surely enrage President Trump, who has always suspected that the Justice Department was conspiring against him and his presidency.

If anything, this will give Trump the opportunity to fully drain the DOJ of anti-Trump officials. It’s highly doubtful McCabe is making any of this up. In fact, he has every reason to blast Trump after he, too, was fired from his post and deprived of much of his government pension. (RELATED: Jeff Sessions Fires Andrew McCabe.)

Grudges die hard, it would seem.
