Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted on Sunday that over 1.2 million and potentially as many as 1.4 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border into the United States since President Biden took office.
The admission came during an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier.
Baier confronted Mayorkas with the staggering numbers, which add up to anywhere between 1.24 to 1.44 million illegal immigrants having been released or lost track of inside the United States.
“So the numbers are that – according to the U.S. district court which you submitted – the DHS has directly released at least 836,000 aliens into the United States since January 21st,” Baier explained.
“Then, you add the … 207,000 unaccompanied alien children, UACs, and then your Border Patrol estimate, somewhere from 200,000 to 400,000 got-aways, in other words, encounters that … evade apprehension.”
“That matches your numbers roughly?” Baier asked.
“I believe so,” Mayorkas replied.

Mayorkas Admits Over 1.2 Million Illegal Immigrants Have Crossed Border
During another portion of the interview, Baier questioned Mayorkas as to whether or not the goal of the Biden administration is to reduce illegal immigration.
He didn’t answer directly.
“But is it the objective of the Biden administration to sharply reduce the total number of illegal immigrants coming across the southern borders, is that the objective?” the Fox News host inquired.
“It is the objective of the Biden administration to make sure we have safe, legal, and orderly pathways for individuals to be able to access our legal system,” he replied.
Mayorkas said the administration is “against irregular migration” due to the safety concerns for those making the trek. “Irregular migration” apparently being the new, politically-correct term for illegal immigration.
With this White House, DHS, and Secretary Mayorkas, the concern is always for the illegal immigrants – all 1.2-1.4 million of them – not the safety of Americans.

Effectively Managed
The numbers are staggering in and of their own. They represent safety and economic concerns for the American people. And yes, concerns for the people who make the dangerous treks.
They also represent incompetence and a blissfully unaware and ignorant DHS Secretary in Mayorkas who recently claimed the administration has “operational control” of the border and has “effectively managed” the border crisis.
“We inherited a broken and dismantled system that is already under strain … only Congress can fix this,” Mayorkas testified before the House Appropriations Committee last week.
“Yet, we have effectively managed an unprecedented number of non-citizens seeking to enter the United States.”
DHS Secretary Mayorkas publicly testified today that the Biden admin has “effectively managed” the border crisis.

Mayorkas’ claim prompted one border agent to comment to Townhall that they were “curious as to what drugs he is taking.”
Baier went on to note that the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border came under Title 42 – which is set to be lifted on May 23rd.
Border agents and officials are reportedly concerned about a looming “disaster” of an influx of illegal immigrants once Title 42 is lifted by the Biden administration, suggesting the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border could surge to 170,000 per month.
At that pace, during the same length of time used in the above numbers, the rate of illegal immigrants coming across the border would double to over 2.5 million over 15 months.
Scary, right? Even scarier – Mayorkas says DHS is preparing for an even greater number – 18,000 illegal immigrants daily once Title 42 is shelved. That equates to 540,000 per month and, over that 15-month timeframe would be an almost unfathomable 8.1 million.

Ohio Republican Representative Jim Jordan accused Mayorkas and the Biden administration of intentionally trying to overwhelm the system with illegal immigrants.
“The chaos on our southern border is not an accident,” Jordan said. “It’s deliberate, it’s on purpose, it’s by design.”
