Poll: Majority Of Americans Say Trump’s Immigration Policy Was Better Than Biden’s

A new survey shows a strong majority of voters believe President Trump's immigration policies were better than President Joe Biden's.

A new survey from Rasmussen Reports shows a strong majority of voters believe former President Trump’s immigration policies were better than President Joe Biden’s.

According to the polling firm, 51 percent of voters have a more favorable view of Trump’s immigration policies, compared to just 32 percent who think Biden’s chaotic border scene is better.

Just 11 percent think the two immigration policies are about the same.

The poll seems to be weighted heavily by the recent humanitarian crisis involving Haitian migrants at the Del Rio-Acuna International Bridge, where at one point thousands of individuals had been residing in squalid conditions.

Trump’s Immigration Policies Better Than Biden

Earlier this week, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that a vast majority of the Haitian migrants had been released into the United States.

“Approximately, I think it’s about 10,000 or so, 12,000,” Mayorkas said when pressed on how many migrants had been released. “It could be even higher. The number that are returned could be even higher.”

The Haitian migrant crisis is clearly fresh in the minds of voters.

“Voters strongly disagree with President Joe Biden administration’s decision to turn loose more than 12,000 Haitian migrants in the United States,” Rasmussen writes, “and a majority now say former President Donald Trump’s immigration policy was better.”

Better Off With Trump

Laredo Mayor Pete Saenz, a Democrat, says things were better under Trump than they are under President Biden.

“We need to truly secure the border,” Saenz told the Washington Free Beacon. “It was working under Trump, call it whatever you want to call it, but it was working.”

Saenz went on to suggest the current President implement a ‘virtual wall’ which uses advanced surveillance tech at the border.

“If Biden doesn’t come out with implementing a virtual wall, people here will be begging for a wall, a physical structure, simply because of his lack of attention to the border and especially the size of these surges,” he said.

He admitted walls work because they would “deter or at least buy time, so to speak, for law enforcement.”

Aside from trailing Trump in policy measures regarding the border, a new Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey shows the former President is more popular than Biden.
