Liberals have always played the race card, but it’s clearly been the only card left in their deck since the rise of Trump. Seemingly everything can be made into a race issue nowadays, and it seems like everyone that’s had even a semblance of a right-wing idea pop into their head can be branded a “Nazi.”
It’s a bit bizarre that the same people on the far-left who can differentiate between hundreds of genders think that political views are binary between “leftist” and “Nazi,” and can’t differentiate between concepts like “legal” and “illegal” immigration.
Despite all the rhetoric about those who disagree with them being “racist,” what party officials told California Democratic candidate Omar Siddiqui indicates some soft racism within their own party and reveals how low Democrat Party leaders think of their own constituents.
According to the Daily Caller:
Siddiqui, a Democrat hoping to unseat Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum Tuesday that party officials claimed that he was “too brown” to win the Democratic primary. Siddiqui said that even though Democratic delegates told him he was the most qualified to run, he was warned that he should “change [his] name” to give himself a better chance to finish in the top two and earn a spot in November’s general election.
“The name Omar Siddiqui will not work in Orange County,” Siddiqui said he was told. “And you can imagine, that was unacceptable to me.”
Saying he’s running a campaign based on issues, Siddiqui believes voters should “judge [him] not on the color of my skin but on the content of my character.”
“I told [the Democratic officials] point blank – I’m not going to change my name. I’m not going to drop out of the race,” said the California congressional candidate. “The Democratic Party is supposed to be the party of the underrepresented and the marginalized.”
Such statements show little faith Democrats have in the kind of people they want voting for Siddiqui. At least when Hillary Clinton called her opponents “deplorable,” it was her opponents she was describing. California’s Democratic Party is describing their own supporters are such.
Unfortunately for Democrats, it seems that their electoral luck heading into the 2018 midterms continues to get worse. (RELATED: California Primaries Prove Odds Shifting in Republicans Favor).
