Dem ‘Squad’ Member Rashida Tlaib Hawking ‘Justice From Detroit to Gaza’ T-Shirts For The Holidays

Rep. Rashida Tlaib is in the holiday spirit, doling out shopping tips to help you find the perfect gift for the “activist” in your family.

And what showcases the spirit of Hannukah or Christmas better than a t-shirt featuring an image of a fist held high and the phrase “water is a human right”?

Or even better, a shirt that states: “Justice From Detroit to Gaza.”

“Looking for the perfect gift for the activist in your family?” she tweeted alongside a link to her store. “Check out some of our powerful messages for family and friends this holiday season.”

Twitter followers were quick to point out Tlaib’s past use of an anti-Semitic trope regarding “dual loyalty.”

In a tweet last year supporting the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, Tlaib accused pro-Israel advocates of having dual loyalty.

“They forgot what country they represent,” she wrote.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the ‘dual loyalty’ canard is “long considered a dog whistle for antisemitic conspiracy theorists.”

Critics were quick to slam Tlaib, the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, by using her own argument.

Tlaib’s Fashion Choices Leave Something To Be Desired

Perhaps fashion just isn’t Tlaib’s thing.

Earlier this year, Tlaib was accused by a Republican challenger of further anti-Semitism for wearing a t-shirt with a similar ‘river to the sea’ message.

In sharing a selfie promoting the release of a book by Linda Sarsour, Tlaib was seen wearing a shirt which features an image depicting the “state of Palestine” where Israel is currently located.

Just days prior to hawking her pro-Gaza shirts, Rashida Tlaib found herself in hot water after being accused of anti-Semitism for sharing a tweet with a message seeking to ‘eradicate’ Israel.

Tlaib retweeted an image celebrating “International Day of Solidarity,” but it included the caption, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

The account for StopAntiSemitism.org noted the message and explained it is a “code for eradicating the State of Israel and its millions of Jews.”

Tlaib was, at one point, floated as a pick for President-elect Joe Biden’s cabinet.
